Looks like we’re getting those remastered Yakuza games after all. Sega has officially revealed that Yakuza 3, 5, and 5 will all be coming to the West in the form of the Yakuza Remastered Collection. Despite the name, this isn’t exactly a collection, as all three games will be released separately through February 2020. Fans won’t have to wait long for the first game though, as Yakuza 3 is available today for the PlayStation 4.

All three games have been remastered for 1080p and will run at 60 frames per second, giving the slightly aged titles a much needed face lift. It’s important to note that this will not be anything like Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2, as those are complete reworks of the first and second Yakuza titles made from the ground up on a whole new game engine. The franchise has seen a massive resurgence in the States since the critically acclaimed Yakuza 0 came out in 2016, and it’s great to see that Sega acknowledges this.

On top of that, Sega will also be giving the collection a physical release on February 11 2020, when Yakuza 5 launches. The collection will come in a special steel blu ray case with the Dragon of Dojima symbol surrounding it, as well as an actual PS3 case for Yakuza 5. The reason for this is because this marks the first time that Yakuza 5 will be available physically in the States. Sega hasn’t stated whether the collection will be ported to PC like the other Yakuza titles, but we don’t expect them to make that transition any time soon.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection will launch physically on February 11, 2020 for the PlaySation 4. Yakuza 3 is available through the PlayStation Store today. Yakuza 4 and 5 will launch on October 29 2019 and February 11, 2020 respectively.
