Update 2.27 has arrived for Dead By Daylight and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. Dead By Daylight is consistently getting new patches, some more content filled and others as bug fixes. This one is a bugfix patch that also has some balancing for The Trickster in it as well. On the server side this update is known as bugfix patch 5.1.1, while it’s 2.27 on PS4. Here’s everything new with Dead By Daylight update 2.27.

Dead By Daylight Update 2.27 Patch Notes

Content

The Trickster:

  • Increased time before Laceration decay to 15s (was 10s)
  • Increased maximum throw speed bonus to 30% (was 25%)

The Trickster’s performance is still lower than we want him after the 5.1.0 release, so we decided to add a bit of power in a few places. Chase dynamics are more interesting now that he has a short delay before Laceration decays but it was a bit too easy for him to lose partial progress toward damaging a Survivor, meriting an increase to the delay.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused clipping between two shelves in one of the preschool’s classrooms in Springwood map
  • Fixed an issue that caused a generator in Lery’s memorial Institute not being able to repaired from one side
  • Fixed an issue where the killer and survivor are able to get on top of a coal wagon using a rock and a pallet in the Suffocation Pit map

  • Fixed an issue that caused the hit marker VFX to stay on the Trickster’s knife after hitting a survivor with the Cut Thru U Single add-on equipped.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Demogorgon not to animate during part of the exit portal animation.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Counterforce perk to still show totem auras while affected by the Blindness effect.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the camera not to follow female survivors when being sacrificed on a hook.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 1.11.1 Patch Notes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/animal-crossing-new-horizons-update-1-11-1-patch-notes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/animal-crossing-new-horizons-update-1-11-1-patch-notes/#respond Tue, 10 Aug 2021 18:51:09 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=793559

Update 1.11.1 has arrived for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. While the updates are coming much less often than they were last year, Nintendo is still putting out fairly regular updates for the game. Rather than major content updates, most of the ones lately have just been fairly simple updates for the game with focuses on things like bug fixes. While there are larger updates coming eventually with new content, this one is more of the bug fix variety. Here’s everything new with Animal Crossing: New Horizons update 1.11.1.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 1.11.1 Patch Notes

Fixed issues

  • The following issues occurring in Ver. 1.11.0 have been fixed.
    • Fixed an issue in the DIY Recipes app where sorting by order obtained would not display recipes in the correct order.
    • Fixed an issue where color variations of certain items would not appear in the Photopia item catalog.
    • Fixed an issue where the closing time music in Nook’s Cranny would not play as intended.
    • Fixed an issue where certain seasonal clouds would not appear as intended.

This latest update specifically is aimed at fixing issues that cropped up with the previous update that came out last month. These were nothing game breaking, but just little things including fixing an issue where sorting in the DIY Recipes app was not working correctly or the closing time music in Nook’s Cranny would not play as it was supposed to. Considering this has no new content in it, most will probably overlook it, as they are looking for new experiences in the game along with the addition of fan favorites like Brewster that people have been asking for since launch. Hopefully we’ll see more updates like that in the near future, but in the meantime you need to make sure to download this one before you start playing.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch. For more information regarding this patch, visit the official Nintendo Support page.

FIFA 22 Preview – FUT Is Now More Accessible Than Ever https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/fifa-22-preview-fut-is-now-more-accessible-than-ever/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/fifa-22-preview-fut-is-now-more-accessible-than-ever/#respond Tue, 10 Aug 2021 14:59:23 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=793378

FIFA 22 is still a little under two months away from release, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty to talk about with the game. After getting to preview the game last month, EA Sports has allowed us to talk about different aspects of the game at different times. The latest mode spotlight is on the ever popular FIFA Ultimate Team, or FUT, which has been revamped in certain areas with some brand new features in FIFA 22.

Division Rivals is always one of the most popular parts of FUT and this year it has been redesigned from the ground up. According to FIFA Ultimate Team Producer Azlan Mustapha, the revamped Division Rivals will “allow more players to enjoy and experience Rivals, while giving players a competitive space to show their skills at any levels.” Rivals has now been turned into a seasonal competition with a less demanding progression system that will keep players at the right skill level while also staying fresh between seasons. On top of earning rewards each week, there will also be seasonal rewards to earn as well. The actual progression system shown off looked much more intuitive than in the past, easily showcasing where you are currently and what you need to do to progress further.

For the more competitive players, the new Elite Division has also been introduced that has its own progression system and rewards to earn. This is a unique area above Div 1 within FUT, which you cannot be demoted from. Your global rank will rise or fall with every match you play, with it being the “ultimate proving ground” that Mustapha says is for the best of the best in FUT. This is made even better with the aforementioned seasonal rewards and such, which are tied with different milestones you need to complete.

FUT Champions has also been overhauled in this year’s game, with the goal being to make it much more accessible than in the past. Previously, you felt like you had to have a lot of time to cram in lots of matches within Champions. That has changed now though by making it less restrictive on time and being more adaptable to your own personal schedule by introducing a multi-stage format. The FUT Champions playoffs can be played at anytime and are easier to qualify for than before, which then let you move onto the Finals that maintain more of the original Weekend League format. While the Finals are only on weekends still, the rest of Champions being so open for players is a major change to really help out players with much more limited time.

FIFA 22 will also have FUT Stadium Customization as you’ve come to expect, with even more ways to customize this year. This will feature themed seasonal content throughout the year to keep things fresh, similar to with Rivals. While not a ton was changed here, there have been some quality of life changes with improved item management, to make things much easier for building your custom stadium. This can be as simple as filtering by color when searching for things to work on the stadium to make things a little more easy for the player.

One of the biggest complaints about FUT in the past has been the lack of anyway for players to play co-op without having friends online, but that has finally been answered with the introduction of Co-Op Public Matchmaking. This lets you team up with players around the world through matchmaking, which should be a lot of fun. These won’t be using your own FUT teams though, but rather pre-made squads by the developers that will rotate over time.

Building squads of your favorite players is always a major part of FUT in each FIFA game and that is made even better this year with the introduction of FUT Heroes. FUT Heroes have been added to the game and “celebrates some of futbol’s most beloved players.” These are era defining moment cards for fan favorite players, which have league specific chemistry. Examples given were Robbie Keane lifting the cup in 2008 and Diego Milito’s brace in the Champion’s League Final, which will be very nostalgic for big fans of the sport. These are going to certainly be big collector’s items in game for hardcore players, with plenty more to be announced and added to the game throughout the year.

FIFA 22 will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on October 1.

MLB The Show 21 Adds Field Of Dreams Park Ahead of Real Life Game https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/mlb-the-show-21-adds-field-of-dreams-park-ahead-of-real-life-game/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/mlb-the-show-21-adds-field-of-dreams-park-ahead-of-real-life-game/#respond Tue, 10 Aug 2021 09:25:48 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=793486

There are many different sports movies out there and everyone has their favorites, but there is no question that 1989’s Field of Dreams is one of the most iconic of all. The premise of the film is that a farmer is told by a mysterious voice that “If you build it, he will come.” While he doesn’t quite understand why, he ends up building a baseball diamond on his own land and the story goes from there. You won’t find many baseball fans that don’t at least know about this movie and that is why it’s no big surprise that MLB The Show 21 has now added their own Field of Dreams park into the game.

This comes timed just ahead of an actual Field of Dreams style game that will be held between the Chicago White Sox, who play a role in the film, and the New York Yankees this Thursday, August 12. To honor this special first of its kind game in MLB, MLB The Show 21 made the announcement earlier about the addition of the Field of Dreams.

MLB The Show 21 | MLB Field of Dreams Trailer

Officially titled the MLB at Field of Dreams park has now been added into the game via the latest update to the game and can be found under Classic Stadiums. This is a free download too that comes with this latest update for all four platforms that the game is available on, so don’t forget to check this one out.

MLB The Show 21 is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and Xbox One.

Minecraft Update 2.28 Patch Notes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/minecraft-update-2-28-patch-notes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/minecraft-update-2-28-patch-notes/#respond Mon, 09 Aug 2021 20:32:33 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=793499

Update 2.28 has arrived for Minecraft and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. Mojang revealed this patch that is known as 1.17.11 (Bedrock) overall on their feedback website today and specified it was first coming to Xbox consoles and would be coming to other platforms in the coming days. However, it has already now arrived on PS4 as well.  Here’s everything new with Minecraft update 2.28.

Minecraft Update 2.28 Patch Notes

  • Players no longer die and instantly respawn after traveling back to Overworld from the End in certain circumstances (MCPE-135226)
  • Players no longer die and get stuck on the respawn screen when entering an End Portal after dying in the End in certain seeds (MCPE-132484)
  • Fixed a crash that could occur on Xbox when suspending and resuming the title for the second time
  • Horses no longer become invisible after being dismounted (MCPE-108568)
  • On Realms, the ‘/msg’ command once again works when the world is in Survival mode and cheats are disabled (REALMS-7760)
  • After renewing an expired Realm, the Realm is now properly renewed instead of a new Realm being created (REALMS-7263)

This latest Bedrock update for Minecraft isn’t that big, but instead focuses on some existing issues that have plagued some players lately. A few of these are related to when players die in the game, with the fix for the getting stuck on the respawn screen being especially helpful. On Xbox specifically, there has been an issue with suspending and resuming the game, which has now been fixed. The somewhat funny glitch of horses becoming invisible upon dismount is also fixed here too. The final two fixes are related to Realms in the game, which you can read more about above.

Minecraft is available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, iOS, Android, and many other platforms. For more information about the game, visit the Minecraft Feedback website.

Mario Golf: Super Rush Update 2.0.0 Patch Notes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/mario-golf-super-rush-update-2-0-0-patch-notes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/mario-golf-super-rush-update-2-0-0-patch-notes/#respond Fri, 06 Aug 2021 05:12:02 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=793010

Update 2.0.0 has arrived for Mario Golf: Super Rush and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. Similar to Mario Tennis Aces from a few years ago, Mario Golf: Super Rush was criticized by many for feeling a bit bare bones. Thankfully they are with a new character and course in this new patch. Here’s everything new with Mario Golf: Super Rush update 2.0.0.

Mario Golf: Super Rush Update 2.0.0 Patch Notes

  • Addition of Ranked Match
    • We have added “Ranked Match” as an online play option.
    • The goal is to improve your global ranking from “C-” to “S+” based on the number of monthly match points you accumulate from the results of your matches.
    • In Ranked Matches, you will be automatically matched with opponents as close as possible in distance and rank.
    • If there are only a few opponents available, you will be matched up even if there is some rank difference, but there is a handicap where higher ranked players will be behind you on the tee. If you can beat a higher ranked player, a bonus will be added to your monthly match points.
    • Your monthly match points, rank, and global ranking will be reset every month, but you will still be able to review your past records.
    • The game is divided into four categories: “Button Controls: Standard Golf”, “Button Controls: Speed Golf”, “Motion Controls: Standard Golf”, and “Motion Controls: Speed Golf”.
    • Achieve a rank of “A-” or higher each month, you will be able to use a character with a special appearance as a bonus.
    • Achieve a rank of “A-” or higher in any one of the categories during August 2021, and you will be able to use “Red Yoshi,” “Blue Yoshi” and “Yellow Yoshi” as a bonus, effective immediately.
  • Addition of “Toadette” as a playable character
    • Toadette has been added as a playable character that can be used in matches.
    • While she has the highest control rating of all the characters, she also has the lowest power. She is recommended for those who want to hit the ball exactly where they want it to go, one shot at a time.
  • Golf Course “New Donk City” Added
    • “New Donk City” from “Super Mario Odyssey” has been added as a playable golf course.
    • This is a short course with 18 holes, all of which are rated Par 3, but it offers the possibility of unique strategies such as bouncing the ball off the walls of buildings.
    • There are two difficulty levels to choose from, “Amateur” and “Pro”, making the tees and greens of all 18 holes completely different.
  • Adjusted Motion Controls
    • It is now easier to generate power when swinging with a full swing in mind.
    • Approach shots aiming at the cup position are now less likely to go wide.
    • The angle of the club is now reflected on the screen when you get into a position to hit the ball.
  • Additions to the “How to Play” section
    • Added explanations of how to play, and tips for Motion Controls in the “Golf Guide”.
  • General Changes
    • “Return to Character Select” and “Return to Course Select” have been added to the Pause Menu exit options.
    • Character points required to obtain the next set of clubs are now displayed in Character Select.
    • Course Select now displays the number of holes you need to play before you can play the next course.
    • The number of holes played before the next course can be played is now displayed in Course Select.
      • However, during online play, you may not be able to select it until you return to the main menu, even if you meet the conditions.
    • The default number of players (including COM) has been changed to two when playing with the “Stroke Play ” and “Take Turns” rules in the Standard Golf menu of “Play Golf”.
    • Adjusted the search procedure for “Find a Room” in the online room menu of “Play Golf”.
    • In online play, even if a network error occurs in another player’s room, the game will now continue after the player is replaced with a COM player. The room will be disbanded if the hosting console has a network error, because the hosting console manages the game settings.
      • In Ranked Matches, if the hosting console has a communication error, it will be replaced by the COM and the game will continue.
    • A warning and countdown will be displayed 30 seconds before the end of the game.
    • Special Shots now pierce through tree foliage.
    • When playing with two players in split-screen mode on a single Nintendo Switch console, the screen of the player who scores first will no longer follow the other player.
    • Motion Controls has been changed so that the character will not automatically move when the pause menu is open during online play.
    • Adjusted the difficulty level of the goal to clear XC Golf at Ridgerock Lake.
    • Changes have been made to the game balance, and other issues, to make for a better play experience.

Nintendo is not disappointing with this first major patch since release after the game received a patch right around release. This adds a brand new character with Toadette alongside a new course based on New Donk City from Super Mario Odyssey. For those that enjoy playing online, there is also the addition of Ranked Play here. Besides those, there are some other changes like improved motion controls and more as well that you can read about above.

Mario Golf: Super Rush is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch. For more information about the game, visit the official Nintendo Support website.

New Sonic Colors: Ultimate Trailer Puts The Spotlight On The Colorful Wisps https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/new-sonic-colors-ultimate-trailer-puts-the-spotlight-on-the-colorful-wisps/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/new-sonic-colors-ultimate-trailer-puts-the-spotlight-on-the-colorful-wisps/#respond Thu, 05 Aug 2021 15:59:40 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=792811

Sonic Colors initially released more than a decade ago exclusively on the Nintendo Wii, but now the game is branching out in HD form with the upcoming Sonic Colors: Ultimate. With just over a month until the release of the game, Sega is really starting to push the pedal to the metal with marketing and that has brought us a brand new trailer focused specifically on the creatures known as Wisps in Sonic Colors: Ultimate.

Wisps play a central role in the game as Sonic tries to save them after being enslaved by Dr. Eggman. When Sonic comes across them in his journey, they can give him special abilities he would not have otherwise and that is what this trailer focuses on here.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate – Wisp Spotlight

The trailer introduces each of the Wisp types by color by explaining what they do and then showing them in action. This also includes the brand new Jade Wisp, which allows Sonic to move through objects like a ghost that would have been impossible to pass otherwise.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate is set to release for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 7. While waiting, you can also check out our hands-on preview from after we got to try out the game for ourselves recently.

This first major patch for Pokémon UNITE brings with it balancing of the various Pokemon found in the game, with some getting buffs in some areas and debuffs in others. This is especially common with MOBAs and is something we’ll see pretty regularly moving forward with the game. This patch also includes the special Spectate feature test that will take place starting on August 4 when the patch releases. A server update will be performed on the game around 12 am PT on August 4, so make sure to restart your app on the Nintendo Switch after that and get the update to keep playing.

Pokémon UNITE is available only for Nintendo Switch, but it is set to arrive for mobile devices in September. For more information regarding this patch, visit the official Pokémon UNITE website.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate Hands-On Preview – The Wii Exclusive Finally Goes HD https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/sonic-colors-ultimate-hands-on-preview-the-wii-exclusive-finally-goes-hd/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/sonic-colors-ultimate-hands-on-preview-the-wii-exclusive-finally-goes-hd/#respond Mon, 02 Aug 2021 12:59:13 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=791600

Sonic the Hedgehog is without question one of the most iconic video game characters of all time, but that hasn’t stopped him from struggling in the 3D game world over the years at times. That doesn’t mean that there haven’t been some great games along the way like Sonic Adventure and Sonic Generations, but one of the least talked about outside of the Sonic fanbase has been the exclusive Sonic Colors that did quite well near the end of the Wii’s life back in 2010. Now more than a decade after the game released, Sega has brought it back as Sonic Colors: Ultimate and we got a chance to try the game out in a recent hands-on preview.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate is an HD remaster of the original game and that could definitely be seen right from the start. The game was already colorful in the first place, but the vibrancy really pops this time around across levels within the worlds of Tropical Resort, Sweet Mountain, and Starlight Carnival. Most of our time was spent with Tropical Resort before unlocking the latter two, but this was seen even more in the Starlight Carnival level that looks absolutely gorgeous in action. Running through the beautifully designed levels is even more of a treat in this game, as they really did a fantastic job with making the visuals feel much more modern in the game’s first HD outing. The only real blemish here were in some of the cutscenes that did look a bit dated in parts, but they still looked decent enough and it’s the levels themselves that really matter.

Finding just the right physics in a 3D Sonic game is very important to development and thankfully Sonic Colors still controls very well like when it first released. Trying to precisely get Sonic to grab every single ring when moving in a 3D plane at fast speeds is always going to be difficult, but Sonic games are pretty much designed for you to not get all the rings anyways. The movement with Sonic still felt very natural here, with the only questionable moments coming when climbing up platforms that required more precise platforming. However, that may have been more of a streaming lag issue with the preview than in the game itself.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate is very much the same game as it was before when it comes to gameplay overall, but some changes were made that are welcome. One of those is a new element when it comes to Sonic’s Homing Attack, which you are introduced to very early in Tropical Resort. Rather than just spamming the button to attack each enemy once in the air, there is a special spot you can time just right and hit to give Sonic extra boost energy. This is something you can just avoid and attack as before if you want, while those that want that extra boost can really work for it against different enemies.

Beyond the typical Sonic gameplay, the signature abilities in Sonic Colors are tied to what are known as Wisps. There are different types of Wisps that you will come across in the game, which each give Sonic a new ability he can use to traverse the stages, often reaching areas that would not have been accessible otherwise. One new Wisp in the game is the Jade Wisp, which allows Sonic to turn into a ghost and phase through walls. We did come across this Wisp, but didn’t really get a chance to use it before replacing it with another Wisp unfortunately. The Wisps are still a lot of fun to use, though we didn’t really get to use them to their full extent in our limited playthrough.

One major change from the original game is the removal of lives, instead putting you back at the beginning of a stage or save point if you die. In addition, we experienced what are known as Tails Saves. These are little tokens you’ll find within levels that you can collect, which will have Tails save you when you fall off a stage for every token you have. In our playtime with the game, we came across one of these Tails Saves tokens and ended up falling at one point and was brought right back where we fell off, which was very helpful. Some may argue that this will just make the game too easy or something, but you can just avoid picking up the tokens if you do not want to utilize them.

Another new feature in Sonic Colors: Ultimate is the ability to customize Sonic to your liking. This includes his outfit and everything, where we were shown costumes honoring other classic Sega series like Jet Set Radio and more in footage. While this may just be a superficial thing to add to the game, it’s a cool addition that adds some replayability to the game.

While we only got a glimpse of what to expect from Sonic Colors: Ultimate in our preview, it’s looking like its shaping up to be a very quality HD remaster of what was already a very enjoyable game. No longer being exclusive to one platform, even more people will get an opportunity to check this one out when it launches next month.

Sonic Colors: Ultimate will release on September 7 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Pokémon UNITE – How To Unlock All Pokémon For Free https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-unite-how-to-unlock-all-pokemon-for-free/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-unite-how-to-unlock-all-pokemon-for-free/#respond Fri, 30 Jul 2021 05:44:53 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=790497

Pokémon UNITE is the latest spinoff in the long running Pokémon franchise, this time taking the form of a MOBA. As anyone who knows anything about MOBAs should know, characters are at the forefront of any game in the genre, which makes Pokémon a perfect fit. The game just launched for Nintendo Switch and has a number of different Pokémon for you to use, though you are limited to just one at the start. From there, you will have to work to unlock the rest and this guide will tell you just how you can do that without paying any real life money.

How To Unlock All Pokémon For Free

When first starting up Pokémon UNITE for the first time, you will get one Pokémon license that you can use to choose between Pikachu, Charizard, Snorlax, Eldegoss, and Talonflame. After that initial license, you can either choose to just spend money to actually buy the other Pokémon, earn them in game through unlocks in some cases, or the most likely route of spending in-game currency you grind out to get them.

In Pokémon UNITE there are two types of currency that you can use. The first of these are Aeos Coins that you earn in the game itself by winning matches, while Gems are purchasable with real world money.

The second Pokémon you’re going to be able to have access to should be Zeraora, at least if you are playing the game around launch. By signing into the game by August 31, you will get a Zeraora license that you can use. There are also a few other Pokémon you can unlock without spending any form of currency.

Once you start playing, a new beginner mission will unlock each day that you will have 30 days total to complete. By completing the seven beginner missions, you will gain access to a Crustle license. There are also two Pokémon that unlock when you reach certain levels, which are Slowbro at level two and Venusaur at level five. Lastly, by playing the game for two, eight, and 14 days, you will earn licenses for Alolan Ninetails, Cinderace, and Greninja respectively.

From there, the rest of the Pokémon at this time have to be unlocked by spending either Aeos Coins or Gems, which you can technically also spend to buy the aforementioned unlockables except for Zeraora, but that would just be a waste of currency. Below are the full list of Pokémon and the cost to unlock each of them.

Pokémon Aeos Coins Cost Gems Cost
Pikachu 6,000 345
Charizard 6,000 345
Snorlax 6,000 345
Eldegoss 6,000 345
Talonflame 6,000 345
Slowbro 6,000 345
Venusaur 8,000 460
Alolan Ninetales 8,000 460
Cinderace 8,000 460
Wigglytuff 8,000 460
Crustle 8,000 460
Cramorant 8,000 460
Machamp 8,000 460
Mr. Mime 8,000 460
Greninja 10,000 575
Lucario 10,000 575
Garchomp 10,000 575
Absol 10,000 575
Gengar 10,000 575

And that’s our guide for how to unlock Pokémon for free in Pokémon UNITE. Just keep playing and grinding to earn more Aeos Coins to unlock everything for free, though spending real money will definitely be a lot faster.

Nintendo 3DS Firmware Update 11.15.0-47 Patch Notes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/nintendo-3ds-firmware-update-11-15-0-47-patch-notes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/nintendo-3ds-firmware-update-11-15-0-47-patch-notes/#respond Wed, 28 Jul 2021 00:57:10 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=791748

Update 11.15.0-47 has arrived for the Nintendo 3DS handheld, and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. The Nintendo 3DS first released way back in 2011 and went through multiple iterations over the years. By this point though, the Nintendo 3DS is very outdated with it no longer being supported with new games and everyone moved onto the Nintendo Switch by now, which is currently in its fourth year of life itself. You can read the full patch notes for this update posted down below.

Nintendo 3DS Firmware Update 11.15.0-47 Patch Notes

  • Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.

Even when game systems seem very outdated with follow-up platforms out for years, that hasn’t stopped the older systems from still getting updates. Even though the Nintendo Switch released in 2017, Nintendo made a point to still support the dedicated handheld Nintendo 3DS for a bit, though that has all but stopped at this point outside of small updates. Since 2018 though, the Nintendo 3DS has only been getting about two or even just one new update a year, with not too much being involved with said updates.

As you can see above, this latest update for the Nintendo 3DS is very basic, in that it just adds improvements to the system’s stability. This is good to see for those that are still gaming on the 3DS, but most people will probably overlook this entirely with the large install base of the Nintendo Switch. However, if you decide to pull out your 3DS to play some Metroid: Samus Returns ahead of the release of Metroid Dread, you should make sure to update the system.

That is all for the latest system firmware update for Nintendo 3DS. For more information regarding this patch, visit the official Nintendo support website to see this patch and the past ones as well.

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.44 Patch Notes (1.8.2) https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/marvels-avengers-update-1-44-patch-notes-1-8-2/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/marvels-avengers-update-1-44-patch-notes-1-8-2/#respond Tue, 27 Jul 2021 18:37:09 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=791666

Update 1.44 has arrived for Marvel’s Avengers and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. This update brings us the next stage of the roadmap for Marvel’s Avengers that they laid out awhile back, this time introducing the Omega-Level Threat Missions among other things. Black Panther isn’t coming until next month, but there’s still plenty to be found in this update for sure. This one will be 1.8.2 overall on Square Enix’s side, while it will be update 1.44 on PS4 and 01.000.020 on PS5 specifically. Here’s everything new with Marvel’s Avengers update 1.44.

Marvel’s Avengers Update 1.44 Patch Notes

New Features

  • Omega-Level Threat: Family Reunion – It is time to the revisit the fight against the Super-Adaptoid from the Taking Aim Operation. Omega-Level Threat missions require full four-player Strike Teams at Power Level 145+, although Power Level 150 is recommended, and though players can run them as many times as they’d like, Omega-Level Threats award the highest-end gear for success once per week per account.
  • Multiplayer Mega Hives – Mega Hives now allow multiplayer in addition to single-player. The Exotic reward will now only be Hivemind gear. Completing the mission chain each week will grant you 2 Hivemind pieces, one focused on melee/ranged and the other focused on defense/Heroics. Players who fall and have no Heroes left can spectate the remaining players in the Strike Team.
  • Permanent Temporal Assault – Due to further tampering by AIM, the ability to play multiple of the same Hero in matchmaking and in Strike Teams is now permanent. We can’t wait to see how you take on Omega-Level Threat: Family Reunion and multiplayer Mega Hives with new Hero combinations now available. Thank you for the feedback!
  • Priority Mission Changes – We are removing the low-level Priority Mission and raising the Power Level of the high-level one to 140. The challenge rating for the Priority Mission cannot be changed. Completing the Priority Mission will grant players a guaranteed Exotic on a weekly basis.

Reassemble Campaign & Avengers Intiative

  • To Tame A Titan (Elite) is now visible on the War Table when the Reigning Supreme mission chain requires it to move forward. T
  • The lives counter in Mega Hives is removed. It has been replaced by the ability to use all your Heroes who are at the appropriate level.
  • In Abomination and Taskmaster Villain Sectors, the Adept Adaptoid no longer spawns in the ceiling, which previously made it difficult to reach.
  • Enemies now spawn in correctly in Last Avenger Standing and Forest Hive.
  • In Beating the Odds, localized voice over no longer plays at the same time as English voice over.
  • Fixed an issue in Mega Hives where a defeated Hero would remain defeated and unusable even after starting the Mega Hive from the beginning.
  • After a Hero is defeated in Mega Hives, the menu to choose another Hero no longer abruptly appears. There is a short pause between.

Multiplayer & Match Making

  • In Beating the Odds during multiplayer, the audio no longer drops during the cinematic that takes place right after defeating Monica.

Art & Animation

  • Captain America’s “Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame” Outfit’s shield is now oriented correctly on his back so the star faces upwards.
  • Roy no longer appears in the Customizable HARM Room. Don’t worry, he doesn’t have feelings.
  • When Hulk performs the This is Child’s Play Takedown, the enemy now flies in the correct direction. Hulk does not have telekinesis after all.

User Interface

  • After opening and closing the Operations Menu with a controller, players can now reopen the menu with a mouse.

Gear, Challenges & Rewards

  • Certain Epic Hero set gear items no longer drop with stats as if it was Power Level 1.

Known Issues & Workarounds

  • In the Mega Hive, placeholder code incorrectly appears on screen in the Hero selection menu after a Hero is downed. This code is supposed to show that players have 30 seconds to select another Hero.
  • The My Life as a Weapon mission incorrectly shows two pieces of SHIELD gear as the reward instead of one piece.

The Omega-Level Threat Missions are definitely the biggest part of this update, but there’s also some important additions in other areas as well. As requested, Mega Hives now finally allow multiplayer with this latest update, as well as revamping the Priority Missions and the Exotic Gear dropped from them. The other fan request here too is that ability to play as multiple of the same Hero in matchmaking and in Strike Teams.

While Marvel’s Avengers has had a rocky time since launch with maintaining a player base, it appears the development team is actively listening to fan requests in the game. Hopefully the upcoming updates will be what really gets players to flock and stay with the game moving forward so that more fan requests can be fulfilled in future updates.

Marvel’s Avengers is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. For more information regarding this patch, visit the official Marvel’s Avengers website.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles – How To Save https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-save/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-save/#respond Tue, 27 Jul 2021 08:02:50 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=791657

The Ace Attorney series has been a fan favorite over the years, even if it’s not one of the major AAA franchises people are always talking about. While we got the different mainline entries, the two Great Ace Attorney games were exclusive to Japan for a number of years for a number of reasons. Capcom finally decided the rest of the world should get a chance to play them though with the new The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles collection. The cases within each episode of the game are very drawn out like in the past entries to where saving is going to be vital, so we have created a guide to tell you how you can save in a couple different ways while playing The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.

How To Save

The two Great Ace Attorney games that are in this collection are arguably the longest entries in the series with very long cases within the 10 episodes that make up the games. With the length of these, making sure to have your game saved is important.

There are a couple different ways to save your game in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. The first of these is something you should eventually become aware of before you get too far into the game. That is because after each Part of an Episode, you will be greeted with the screen seen at the top of this guide that asks if you want to “Save your current progress” or not.

That is not the only way to save in the games though, as you very well may need to stop somewhere else in the middle of the different Parts of the Episode. This is especially the case because some of them can get pretty longwinded. This other method can be done at pretty much anytime, except for during an actual cutscene. If a character is speaking, just make sure their written dialogue is complete and then you are ready to save.

Look at the bottom right of the screen and you should have some button icons telling you what happens if you press certain buttons. The one we want to press is Options on PS4, which would be + on Nintendo Switch and so on. This will bring up the options menu for the game, which will default to the Records option. Select it and then choose Save of course. From there, just select the slot you want to save in and you can resume from this point at anytime later, even if it’s in the middle of a trial or a crime scene investigation.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is available for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. If you need any additional help with the game, make sure to check out our other guides for the game.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles – How To Find Contradictions https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-find-contradictions/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-find-contradictions/#respond Tue, 27 Jul 2021 07:50:07 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=791620

The Ace Attorney series has many features that are staples across each of the entries, with most of them revolving around the courtroom itself. Arguably the most common thing throughout the series is where the prosecution brings out a witness and completely turns the tables on you to make you or your client look very guilty. This will require you to find a way out of this trouble by finding some contradictions in the witness’ statement, which this guide will explain how to do in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.

How To Find Contradictions

There are many different characters that will end up making statements in the courtroom that can really change the course of a trial. That means you’re going to have to find the holes in their stories somehow, which is often not very apparent. The statements in which this is possible is when it turns green and goes back over what they said in their previous statement.

What you need to do in these moments is to Press the witness by hitting L1 on PS4 or the respective button on other platforms and get more information out of them. Sometimes this just provides extraneous information that doesn’t really help you, while other times it can provide that chink in the armor that you need.

When you notice something that doesn’t seem right, be ready to press R1 on PS4 to Present evidence to contradict their statement. You can always back out of the Court Record that opens up when you press this if you don’t think you have anything good after looking, but it’s always a good idea to check.

Be careful when you are presenting evident to try and contradict the witness though, as this can get you strikes that will eventually lead to a game over in the trial if you do it incorrectly. Really the key here is to be smart and pay attention to what they are saying and then look at the court record to see if there is anything there that would go against what they are saying. You do have a number of strikes to work with though, so don’t be afraid to be bold at times to try and see if something will work out.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is available for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. If you need any additional help with the game, make sure to check out our other guides for the game.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles – How To Change Languages https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-change-languages/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-change-languages/#respond Tue, 27 Jul 2021 07:25:54 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=791598

The Ace Attorney series has always been rather interesting between its Japanese releases and its Western releases. The Phoenix Wright games were very clearly set in Japan in the Japanese releases, but the Western releases decided to move the action to a Japan-influenced Los Angeles instead for whatever reason. That is why many though we may never get the Great Ace Attorney series games, as they would be hard to take the Japanese history out of. However, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has finally arrived to the West after more than five years of waiting with both games in tow. While the default way to experience the game is with English voices, the game also offers the ability to switch to Japanese and this guide will tell you how.

How To Change Languages

As always with the Western releases of the Ace Attorney series, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is defaulted to English voice acting in the game. This isn’t all that prevalent in the game overall, since there’s not that many voiced scenes. There are narrated moments and a few voiced lines of dialogue at the beginning of each chapter, but that’s about it except for the words like “Objection” and “Yes” during the courtroom scenes.

For those that want the most authentic The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles experience since the characters are from Japan, Capcom did offer dual-audio as a feature in the game. To do this, head to the main menu of the game overall and go down to Options and select it. On the next screen, go down to Language and select that. From there, all you have to do is just flip the switch from English to Japanese and you will now have Japanese voices in the game. While this is very limited in the game, it’s still a nice touch for those that can appreciate it.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is available for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. If you need any additional help with the game, make sure to check out our other guides for the game.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles – How To Move Between Areas https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-move-between-areas/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-move-between-areas/#respond Tue, 27 Jul 2021 06:07:44 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=791641

While it does have some new mechanics to it, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles at its core is very much like the existing Ace Attorney games. This means not only do you have to worry about playing defense attorney in the courtroom, but also playing detective throughout the game. This means scouring crime scenes for clues and such, while also having to travel between different locations. This might not be as apparent at times in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, so this guide will explain how to do just that.

How To Move Between Areas

Each Episode in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has its own setup and story surrounding it, where you will be visiting a few different locations usually. Within those locations, you may be doing things like examining the scene for clues or speaking with people in the area for more information. Once you are done in a given area though, you will often need to move to another to push the story forward.

To do this, you need to back out of where you are searching an area or talking with someone to the menu where you have the specific options of Examine, Converse, Move, and Present. If this menu is not up on the screen, continue backing out of menus you are in and you should eventually end up there.

Once in this, you obviously want to select Move as your option, which will then bring up a new menu with options for you. From here, you want to select the next location you want to visit. However, these locations are not always available during a case, you it may be dependent on what’s going on currently. For example, in the game’s second Episode, there are moments where one of the cabins is blocked off with no way to enter, so you’ll have to worry about doing that later when you have a chance. Instead, just visit the locations that you can and continue the story.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles – How To Access Episode Select https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-access-episode-select/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-how-to-access-episode-select/#respond Tue, 27 Jul 2021 05:33:41 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=791593

The Great Ace Attorney games have finally arrived to the West as The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles after years of waiting. Unlike the previous games that are relatively standalone overall, these two are very much connected throughout the cases in each game. While you probably should just play through the games as intended without doing anything different, the game does offer an Episode Select that you can use to pick exactly what episode you want to play at any given time. This may not be as obvious in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, especially if you’ve already started your game, so this guide will explain how you can do so.

How To Access Episode Select

There are five chapters known as Episodes found within both The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve for a total of 10 in the game. Considering these feature a narrative throughout that is worth playing through the first time, it is really recommended to play through them as laid out in the game. However, some people may just want to jump ahead if they are getting bored by a caseor maybe are playing through the game for a second time and want to start in a specific Episode.

To do this, you will have to start from the very main menu of the game. This will be the one that has options like Continue and Load Game. The option you want to pick is the one between them though, which is Select Adventure.

From there, you will come to a screen for The Great Ace Attorney: Adventure and you have one of two options to choose from, New Game or Select Adventure. In this case, you want to choose Select Adventure again. Doing this will bring up a screen with Episode 1 and let you scroll left or right between each of the other four Episodes.

If you want to do this for the second game, go back to the screen where it said New Game and Select Adventure and simply press left or right on the analog stick or D-pad. Doing this will bring you to a screen with the title The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve and the same two options of New Game and Select Adventure below it. Once again, pick Select Adventure and you can pick between each of the five Episodes in the game. You can go to either game and do this at any time, so feel free to move around or go replay your favorites Episodes in The Great Ace Attorney Adventures Chronicles.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is available for PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. If you need any additional help with the game, make sure to check out our other guides for the game.

Apex Legends Update 1.75 Patch Notes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/apex-legends-update-1-75-patch-notes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/apex-legends-update-1-75-patch-notes/#respond Mon, 26 Jul 2021 20:54:40 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=791589

Update 1.75 has arrived for Apex Legends and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. Apex Legends players have August 3rd already marked on the calendar for the big release of the Emergence update for the game that will feature a lot of changes and features for the game that will be very worth players jumping back in for that haven’t played in awhile. In the meantime though, Respawn Entertainment has been releasing some smaller patches to help make everything ready for this update and the latest has now arrived for players to get ahead of the big update. Here’s everything new with Apex Legends update 1.75.

Apex Legends Update 1.75 Patch Notes

  • Players becoming un-readied when changing legends in ranked queues
  • The legend select screen occasionally being skipped
  • A rare bug that enabled shooting while downed
  • Revenant’s Silence description showing the wrong duration
  • Private Match crashes
  • Miscellaneous stability fixes

While the Emergence update is still a week away, that didn’t stop Respawn from fixing some other issues with the game in the meantime. In fact, this update features six specific fixes that are broken down above. The first of these involved players becoming un-readied when switching characters in ranked queues, which isn’t a major deal but still is nice to have fixed. The next two are a few bugs that were pretty rare to have happen, so many players probably never had this issue anyways. Next up is related to the description having the wrong duration listed for Revenant’s Silence in the game. The other two fixes listed are much more vague though, included fixes with crashes in Private Matches, as well as just miscellaneous stability fixes all around in the game.

Apex Legends is available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. For more information regarding this patch, visit the Respawn Twitter page.

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles Review https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-review/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/reviews/the-great-ace-attorney-chronicles-review/#respond Mon, 26 Jul 2021 11:59:28 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=790722 When anyone thinks of the Ace Attorney series, most think of the titular Phoenix Wright that has starred in most of the games over the years. The mainline series has always been set in present day, but the series did have a duo of prequel spinoffs back in 2015 and 2017 respectively known as The Great Ace Attorney. Due to a number of reasons, these games were never localized to the West back on the 3DS though, which fans of the series have been asking for ever since. The wait is finally over though as both games have now arrived around the world as The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.

Interestingly enough, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles will be the first two Western releases in the series to be set in Japan proper for parts of the games. While the mainline series is set in Japan in the Japanese versions, they took some major liberties to make the Western versions set in a different Japanese-inspired version of Los Angeles. The fact that the Great Ace Attorney games were so distinctly Japanese in their story is why many thought they would never release outside of Japan, but Capcom decided to actually have them set in Japan at the beginning at least while maintaining the cultural elements throughout even when they leave the country.

The-Great-Ace-Attorney-Chronicles-Review-2

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles are set near the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century starting in Japan, where the idea of a defense lawyer is a relatively new concept during what was known as the Meiji Era. You play as lead protagonist Ryunosuke Naruhodo, a second-year student at a local university who starts the game on trial himself for murder. Up to this point, Ryunosuke had no desire whatsoever to be an attorney, but after some events that occur in the first few chapters, he ends up in London to study and become an attorney himself. This should come as no surprise though, as Ryunosuke is in fact an ancestor of Phoenix Wright himself.

Unlike a lot of the Phoenix Wright games that have some very self-contained cases, even though there is still an overarching plot of the games, the story found in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is very connected throughout as players are introduced to Ryunosuke and get to watch him grow as a character. This is in some ways similar to how the first Ace Attorney game showed Phoenix Wright as a rookie attorney, but Ryunosuke is even more green than Wright ever was. After multiple entries into the mainline franchise though, this is a refreshing take with someone that is very new who you get to experience from the very start of their career.

Ryunosuke is far from the only important character in the game though, as there are multiple others that have reoccurring roles as well. This includes his best friend Kazuma Asogi, judicial assistant Susato Mikotoba, and the absolutely absurd detective Herlock Sholmes among many other characters. Going into too much more detail would potentially spoil some major events, but there is no question that the characters found within the two games are very much what you would expect from the Ace Attorney series.

The-Great-Ace-Attorney-Chronicles-Review-5

Both games thrust you right into the courtroom from the get go, with the second game featuring a unique twist on that even. These are pretty straightforward introduction chapters that get you used to the courtroom and the classic style setup where you go back and forth with the prosecution while trying to avoid having the judge call for a guilty verdict. This is really no different from any of the past games, so you should know what to expect here. The followings chapters though are where the game really opens up with more exploration and detective work being brought into the mix.

In the first game, for example, the second case does not even take place in a courtroom, but instead aboard a ship as Ryunosuke and company are heading to London as part of a study abroad type program. Without giving away too much, this is where Herlock Sholmes is first introduced as a master detective take on Sherlock Holmes, though this one is a little off in his deductions. He knows how to get there broadly, but doesn’t always have all the facts right. This is where Ryunosuke comes into play in what is known as the Dance of Deduction. While the rest of the chapter has you doing typical Ace Attorney tasks like checking crime scenes and nearby locations for clues and presenting evidence in certain areas outside of a courtroom settings, the Dance of Deduction is brand new.

The Dance of Deduction will start with Herlock Sholmes giving a rundown of a case, sometimes even seeming like he is making total sense. However, someone will always point out some major flaws in his deductive reasoning, which is where Ryunosuke has to step in. Sholmes will then redo his Dance of Deduction, but now stop at certain points and let you replace certain words or phrases with the correct ones, whether they are from something you can select at the scene or something you have already as evidence. The multiple Dances of Deduction are really entertaining to perform not only because Sholmes is a hilarious character in of himself, but because they are a unique new twist for the gameplay of the series.

The-Great-Ace-Attorney-Chronicles-Review-3

Once you arrive in London though, things start to change quite a bit when it comes to the courtroom setting. This is because Great Britain handles things differently in their courtroom than Japan or even the Japan-influenced Los Angeles setting of the mainline games. Rather than simply featuring a defense attorney, a prosecutor, and a judge, these westernized courtrooms feature not just a judge, but also six jurors that you have to sway in your favor. In typical Ace Attorney fashion, the prosecutor always gets off to a hot start and will turn the jurors completely against you and your client, which means you have to take part in what is known as Summation Examination to turn it back in your favor.

The multiple Dances of Deduction are really entertaining to perform

Summation Examination is similar to the cross-examination that you do of witnesses, as the point here is to find contradictions in their statements about the case. Doing this successfully will get jurors onto your side, with the goal of getting the majority of them on your side so that the trial proper can continue as per usual. This is not that far off from what you already have to do in the trials, while also managing to add something new as well.

The-Great-Ace-Attorney-Chronicles-Review-6

Just like was seen with the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD remaster that was released on consoles two years ago, The Great Ace Attorney Trilogy received a much needed visual upgrade from the 3DS version. The 3DS itself was very limited with its screen size and resolution, so it’s great to see the two games in the collection in their full glory. Everything just looks cleaner now all around, with it not even looking like the game was originally designed for a handheld. The only downside here is the loss of the second screen that has always been very useful in the Ace Attorney games, but it’s still handled quite well here regardless, even if it’s not quite as convenient.

While the two games in the collection look better than ever with polished HD visuals, this new collection did not add anything in the form of additional voice acting. The original Japanese release on 3DS was limited with the amount of voice acting, which is also the case here. The beginning of each case has a short scene with voice acting, but that quickly turns into only written dialogue pretty much from there on out. You can’t have an Ace Attorney game without the loud “Objection” and the like sound effects during the courtroom scenes, which are very present, but that is about it otherwise. The likely reason for the lack of extra voiced lines though is that the game includes dual-audio with Japanese voices and that would have been a tall task to record more dialogue in both languages.

Capcom did decide to add in some other extra content as well for you to enjoy, including its own in-games accolades, a gallery, and even an area to listen to the game’s music. The Great Ace Attorney 2 specifically has alternate costumes you can switch between if you want for three characters too. Most importantly though are the eight slice of life Escapades episodes that you can play through. These are little side stories that take place around the existing narrative, which are best enjoyed after completing the game.

The-Great-Ace-Attorney-Chronicles-Review-4

Once thought unlikely to release outside of Japan, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles has finally been brought West for the first time. Set more than 100 years ahead of the original games, the two games have the distinct Ace Attorney feel that fans know and love, while also introducing some new mechanics that set itself apart. Even without the popular characters of the main series, there is no objection that the new characters introduced here are very likable and work well in one of the most interconnected stories in the franchise’s history.

The Verdict

Like you would come to expect from the franchise, The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles features both classic detective and Ace Attorney series tropes and gameplay that come together around some very intriguing mysteries that will keep you busy for many hours across the interconnected story of the two games included in the collection.

FIFA 22 Preview – Hypermotion Technology Is A Real Game Changer For The Series https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/fifa-22-preview-hypermotion-technology-is-a-real-game-changer-for-the-series/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/fifa-22-preview-hypermotion-technology-is-a-real-game-changer-for-the-series/#respond Tue, 20 Jul 2021 16:59:54 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=788987

Annual sports game franchises are often some of the most difficult games to market, due to some years now quite having the leap forward that fans would like before buying a whole new iteration. This leads some players to only pick up a new game in a sports franchise every few years, but it looks like EA Sports is definitely trying to make their games must buys this year. We already told you plenty about Madden 22’s new features that we’ll see come to fruition next month, with FIFA 22 coming about a month later. FIFA is definitely coming off of one of the lesser received entries and it looks like the development team at EA Vancouver is very serious about improving the level of reception with the release of FIFA 22 and a major part of that is the new Hypermotion Technology that we got to see in action during a recent preview.

Exclusive to the next-gen version of FIFA 22 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Hypermotion Technology is the all new way that the development team has built up the gameplay, the technology of which has been in the works for around three years.  There are many parts to Hypermotion Technology that are very important, with the first being Advanced 11v11 Match Capture. This is the first time they have ever done this with a FIFA game, typically in the past just having players in mocap suits and doing small one-on-one motion capture or maybe just do it with a few players at a time that utilized optical motion capture. This time around though, they have taken things to the next level by having 22 players in mocap suits at the same time while using what is known as Xsens technology. This allows for much more natural movement and reactions when performing motion capture than ever before.

Having the full 11v11 match capture is very important to the implementation of Hypermotion Technology, but it wouldn’t be possible without machine learning as well. Machine learning is the method used to teach the computer real soccer and translating that into realistic animations. More specifically, Lead Gameplay Producer Sam Rivera stated that the machine learning is based on 8.7 million frames of the 11v11 mocap to create real movements that weren’t possible in the past.

The combination of the Advanced 11v11 Match Capture and machine learning has led to six new features in the gameplay that are going to be very important this year. The first of these is Full Team Authentic Motion, which includes 4,000 new animations in the game that are more fluid and realistic, which is the largest animation refresh in the series’ history. This is paired with the ML – Flow feature, which is the actual machine learning algorithm. ML – Flow actually writes new animations in real-time, which cleans up while making more futbol behaviors than in the past.

Tactical A.I. is also a big part of the gameplay in FIFA 22, which is only possible thanks to the power of the new consoles and both advanced 11v11 match capture and machine learning. The goal here was to create a “deeper intelligence” with all players on the pitch. Improving the level of tactical realism was a major goal by the team here and it has led to attacking players now being able to make six times more decisions per seconds, including more speed and reaction time. The defensive A.I. has also been redone to where the players play more as a team than ever before, which should really enhance the overall experience.

Improving the player animations was a big goal for the development team and Kinetic Air Battles exemplifies that. When two players would end up in the air going after the ball in the past, sometimes the animations would get a little questionable and not seem very realistic. The new changes as a result of the new Hypermotion Technology though has really focused on making the in-air interactions between players be as true to life as possible with much cleaner outcomes.

The air is not the only place where the dev team looked to have better control either, as Composed Ball Control is also a new feature in the gameplay as well. Advanced 11v11 Match Capture and machine learning has really helped to make the ball control feel more natural than ever. Combined with the new animations, you will really feel like you are in full control of the ball at all times when playing offense. This also works well with the new True Ball Physics in the game where things like friction and trajectory make it feel like a real ball was put right into the game.

Lastly, the Advanced 11v11 Match Capture has also allowed for Player Humanization in the game. Not only are the soccer aspects much improved with the animations, but also are the players themselves in how they interact. While in the game, players will talk to one another, whether they are teammates or the opposition, which really just adds something a little extra to the overall gameplay.

While those are the six features that have been added as a result of Advanced 11v11 Match Capture and machine learning, there are also some other gameplay additions that are coming in the game as well. In fact, these are the features that will also be found in the last-gen version. One of those is known as Explosive Sprint, which has changed the way sprint works in the game. In the past, the only option was to hold down the sprint button and your player would go faster than usual. Explosive Sprint though is all about acceleration versus just pushing the ball forward. This was implemented to replicate real life behavior where a player will run even faster to go and try to stop the ball or go in for the shot.

Goalkeepers haven’t been forgotten about either, as FIFA 22 has rewritten the goalkeeper system to allow for smarter decision making and more reliable shot stopping. To help with this, they have taken some of the positioning personalities of different goalkeepers in the sport and put them in the game. This now allows for a lot more saves that you would have never seen be made in the game before.

FIFA 22 will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on October 1. Just remember that the Hypermotion Technology features will be exclusive to next-gen versions only, with PC getting the last-gen version this year. Stay tuned for more to come over the next couple of months leading up to the release of the game for more information about the various game modes in the game.

FIFA 22 Preview – Presentation Upgrades Aim To Emulate Real Life Matches https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/fifa-22-preview-presentation-upgrades-aim-to-emulate-real-life-matches/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/fifa-22-preview-presentation-upgrades-aim-to-emulate-real-life-matches/#respond Tue, 20 Jul 2021 16:59:39 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=790214

Soccer is easily the most global sport of all, with people around the world watching the recent UEFA EURO 2020 where Italy was crowned the winner after countless exciting matches. It is hard to capture that level of excitement in video game form, but EA Sports has done a solid job over the years with the presentation. The upcoming FIFA 22 looks to improve on that even further with new elements of the presentation that look to elevate this year’s game to be even more true to life than ever before.

FIFA 22 will feature new pre-match anticipation, which includes things you wouldn’t even think about like sprinklers, lineman laying out chalk, and even new mascots. These aren’t major inclusions, but just add a bit of flair to the game. Fab Muoio, Senior Art Director for the Broadcast Experience in FIFA 22, went into greater details about these and showed some of them off in a recent preview. The introduction with the bubbles for West Ham was easily one of the standouts that looked absolutely amazing, which will make you not want to skip the intros.

The power of next-gen has also allowed for an upgrade to the vibrancy of the colors throughout the entire match, which can be seen from the very start. There are also upgraded crowd props, flags, and banners in the game, with the dev team trying to make the crowds seem more integral to the experience like a real soccer match. In fact, they mentioned how the crowds can get energized or even leave early when the home team is losing badly. This is something that happens in real life all the time, but you never really think about it in game form, so it’s great to see something like that be added into the game. It’s not just the crowd that will be reacting throughout either, as they have also gotten managers into the mix as well with them being able to react to celebrations and such in the game.

There will be an Enhanced Match Atmosphere as well thanks to new commentary by Stewart Robson, who will be joined by Alex Scott in this year’s game. Not only will there be entirely new commentary in the game, but an interrupt system has been implemented where either commentator can interrupt the other when talking if something happens in the game. It’ll be interesting to see how well this works in the game, but the idea of it is really neat. For PS5 owners, they also mentioned that the system’s 3D audio would be utilized with the atmosphere as well.

FIFA 22 will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. Just remember that not all features will be available in the last-gen versions of the game, including the PC version, as the definitive experience for this year’s release will be on the next-gen consoles exclusively. This includes the Flowmotion Technology we talked about in our other preview as well, which you can check out right here.

NBA 2K22 Preview – Both Next-Gen and Last-Gen Versions Are Being Treated Like Separate Games https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/nba-2k22-preview-both-next-gen-and-last-gen-versions-are-being-treated-like-separate-games/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/nba-2k22-preview-both-next-gen-and-last-gen-versions-are-being-treated-like-separate-games/#respond Tue, 20 Jul 2021 14:59:57 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=790210

NBA 2K is always one of the best selling video games every year and last year saw the release of the game earlier in the fall for the PS4/Xbox One generation before later releasing as NBA 2K21 Next Generation on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The last-gen version wasn’t all that well received, but the next-gen version was a much improved version. With most console generation transitions, sports games on the last-gen consoles are just lesser versions of the next-gen experience, but developer Visual Concepts has decided to do something very uncommon by making both the next-gen and last-gen versions of NBA 2K22 two separate experiences.

During a recent preview event, Erick Boenisch, Executive Producer at Visual Concepts, explained that the development team made a point to give 110% to both next-gen and last-gen versions. While obviously there are features that are exclusive to next-gen that wouldn’t be possible on last-gen, they really worked to make NBA 2K22 on last-gen a worthwhile experience for those that have not been able to get a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S yet. They managed to do this by making both feel like their own standalone games, while still sharing some features.

Obviously the core gameplay and many of the modes will be the same between the two games, as it is still an NBA 2K game. This also includes brand new gameplay improvements related to control of the ball and how to counter moves on the defensive end. However, next-gen will have many more features available to it than the last-gen version. While next-gen will have more features though, last-gen is still going to be a full fledged game that doesn’t feel like a limited experience and that starts with the Neighborhood.

A big part of this is with this year’s iteration of the Neighborhood, which is different than it has ever been before. While the next-gen versions get a new version of The City, the last-gen version doesn’t just get a pared down version of that, but rather something completely different. The Neighborhood now takes to the high seas by being located on a large cruise ship where you can hoop in “nautical luxury,” which also ties into the new implementation of Seasons. As the Seasons change, there will be occasions where you can take place in events off of the board in exotic locales, which is going to be interesting to check out. They specifically listed locations like Egypt and Iceland, but they will be dependent on the various Seasons. Having the events like this will help to keep the experience fresh compared to the larger City found on next-gen.

The City on next-gen platforms is going to be an entirely different experience from the Neighborhood, giving some players a reason to check out both if they are really interested. They aren’t just taking the City from last year and calling it a day either, as it has received some major upgrades. Boenisch mentioned how the City in NBA 2K22 has buildings that felt bare and the people just felt basic, but this year has taken a big step forward in visualizing the concept they had originally. This has led to a complete re-envisioning of the City as we know it, including allowing you to do plenty of non-basketball stuff, such as become a fashion designer or music mogul. There are also some quality of life improvements found in the City as well in NBA 2K22 on next-gen platforms, including the inclusion of matchmaking. Now you can do three players vs. three players online and match-up with them quickly. The goal here was to solve the problem of those that just wanted to game now rather than wait for matches.

Another major aspect of NBA 2K22 between last-gen and next-gen is the integration or lack of integration between MyCAREER and the City or Neighborhood. As you can read more in detail about in our other preview, MyCAREER and the City will be brought together for the first time in NBA 2K22 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. For the last-gen version though, MyCAREER and the Neighborhood will remain completely separate. Depending on how well the integration works on next-gen will sort of decide whether this is a good or bad thing in the end, so it’s hard to say at this point.

While there is no integration between these modes, both versions of the game will feature the more involved than ever Seasons. Seasons were implemented in NBA 2K21 as sort of a live service strategy for the game, but was limited in the modes it was available in. This time around though, Seasons will be available in MyTEAM, MyCAREER, The W on next-gen, and either the City or the Neighborhood depending on which version you have. This is a case where they could have easily dropped Seasons in last-gen in lieu of the next-gen version, but they decided to truly give the 110% that Boenisch stated before.

Beyond some of the aforementioned, there are other features that are next-gen exclusives like The W and other game mechanics that won’t be found in last-gen. Even so, the focus on the Neighborhood for last-gen console owners is a good sign for those that haven’t been able to upgrade to the new consoles yet, when it could have just been treated as an afterthought like we often see with sports games.

NBA 2K22 will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 10.

NBA 2K22 Preview – Experience The City And MyCAREER Together Now https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/nba-2k22-preview-experience-the-city-and-mycareer-together-now/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/nba-2k22-preview-experience-the-city-and-mycareer-together-now/#respond Tue, 20 Jul 2021 14:59:44 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=788999

The NBA Finals have not even concluded quite yet for the current season and NBA 2K22 is already less than two months away from release. Not much information has been released about the game prior to now, likely thanks to COVID and the very different style of E3, but 2K Sports and Visual Concepts held a preview event recently where some of that information was released. While we were not able to see any gameplay yet, we learned some exciting things about a new integration between the game’s MyCAREER mode and the City on next-gen platforms.

In past iterations of NBA 2K, whether it was with the Neighborhood or the City, they were a completely standalone entity. MyCAREER has been the narrative experience year to year where there are cinematics and a set story mostly for you to play through on your NBA journey, while both the Neighborhood and the City were the more open sandbox world for you to explore and play basketball at your leisure. This is changing in NBA 2K22 though, at least on the next-gen platforms.

Exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, MyCAREER and the City will be completely integrated for time, with you using the same character across both of them. The goal here was to “deliver on the narrative experience” by tearing down the wall between the two modes, which is sort of similar to how MLB The Show 21 integrated Road to the Show’s character into Diamond Dynasty for the first time. That integration was kind of hit and miss with fans of that game, so hopefully it is handled a little better here overall in the end. However, we won’t really find that out until the game actually releases.

Even though MyCAREER is being integrated with the City on next-gen platforms, that does not mean you can expect the same for last-gen. In the version of those platforms, MyCAREER will be its own separate entity from the Neighborhood, which serves the same purposes as the City in those versions.

Within this newly integrated version of the City and MyCAREER, one question asked to the dev team was whether Rookieville would return again. For those that did not play it, this was essentially an entry area you were stuck in until you reached a certain level before you could even enter the City proper. The good news is that it was confirmed by Erick Boenisch, Executive Producer at Visual Concepts, that Rookieville would be no more in NBA 2K22. Instead, there is a way better intro that will put you right into the City from the start.

They also confirmed that there could be some sort of authored story with cinematics for your player within MyCAREER and the City, but they specified that it would be dependent on your player. Unfortunately, they did not go into any further details on that and said more was to come related to that.

NBA 2K22 will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 10.

Pokémon Go Fest 2021 – How To Get Lots of XP https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-go-fest-2021-how-to-get-lots-of-xp/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-go-fest-2021-how-to-get-lots-of-xp/#respond Sat, 17 Jul 2021 08:25:04 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=788989

Pokémon GO Fest 2021 is upon us and people will be out and about for the two day event to catch all kinds of Pokémon. Major events like this are great opportunities to get lots of XP to help yourself level up. Unfortunately, Niantic hasn’t implemented any sort of double XP for anything during the event, but the event is still ideal for you to level up and this guide will give you some tips to rack up lots of XP during Pokémon GO Fest 2021.

How To Get Lots of XP

There are lots of different ways to earn XP in Pokémon GO, but the most surefire way of getting a lot at the start is to invest in some Lucky Eggs. Activating a Lucky Egg gives you double XP for 30 minutes at time, which you can stack by activating more at one time. You can purchase one Lucky Egg for 80 coins or eight of them for 500 coins from the shop, but there have also been plenty of research that have rewarded them as well. In addition, there is the Starter Box that you can only buy one time in the game that includes 3 Lucky Eggs along with 3 Super Incubators, 3 Premium Battle Pass, and 30 Poké Balls for $2.99, but many people won’t have that still available.

Now that we’ve established the way to get double XP guaranteed, let’s talk about what you should be doing during Pokémon GO Fest 2021 to obtain lots of XP. First of all, you can kill two birds with one stone by going out and catching all kinds of Pokémon. That’s the point of GO Fest and you should be out there most of the day catching Pokémon after Pokémon. Not only should you be worrying about catching them in general, but try to make the best throws when catching them as well. To maximize your XP from each Pokémon, make sure to always use curveballs and try to go for Excellent Throws, though the latter can be very hard. Likely you’ll mostly be getting Great and Nice Throws, which also add up pretty nicely as well. If you by chance have a Poké Ball Plus or the Pokémon GO Plus, you can use them to catch other Pokémon all over as well while you are walking about, which will just add to the overall totals pretty quickly.

The next method for obtaining a lot of XP during GO Fest 2021 is to hatch plenty of eggs. Across both days, the egg hatch distance will be halved, which is going to be very helpful with hatching eggs. As a result, grabbing some extra incubators and having them going all day can be very helpful, as each egg hatching provides you with some solid XP that can help as well.

There will also be raids going on during Pokémon GO Fest 2021 like always, which are always the best source of XP in the game. This is going to be even more the case on Sunday though, as players will be getting an extra 10,000 XP for every completed raid. Considering you get 10,000 XP already for the tier 5 raids that will be going on, you will be getting 20,000 XP for every one of them on Sunday. This is huge for those trying to reach level 40 and beyond, so don’t miss out on this golden opportunity, which is made even better with Lucky Eggs.

There are also some other ways to earn extra XP along the way like spinning PokéStops, with the first day bonuses and streaks getting you the most XP here. If you are walking around somewhere with a lot of PokéStops for GO Fest 2021, you might as well keep spinning them to make everything easier. This means you’ll not only be getting items like Poké Balls that you can use to catch Pokémon and get more XP, but also getting XP for each spin.

That concludes our guides on how to get lots of XP during Pokémon GO Fest 2021. There are plenty of different ways to earn XP, so make sure to follow some of the methods above to really rack it up during the annual event.

Pokémon GO Fest 2021 – How to Complete the Cave Collection Challenge https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-go-fest-2021-how-to-complete-the-cave-collection-challenge/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-go-fest-2021-how-to-complete-the-cave-collection-challenge/#respond Sat, 17 Jul 2021 02:28:07 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=789691

Lastly comes the fourth and final Collection Challenge for Pokémon GO Fest 2021, which is based around the Cave Hour. This hour will be spawning Pokémon you would associate with caves in the games, with there being plenty for you to catch. To help you finish the final challenge, we have put together a guide for how to complete the GO Fest: Cave Collection Challenge.

Cave Collection Challenge Guide

The Cave Collection Challenge will be taking place across both days of Pokémon GO Fest 2021 and tasks you with catching specific Pokémon related to the Cave theme. Technically you will be able to complete this challenge on Saturday or Sunday, but Saturday is definitely going to be the preferred time. This is because the Pokémon for the Cave Collection will just about the only Pokémon spawning during the two specific Cave Hours. For those that have the GO Fest 2021 ticket, make sure to participate in both of the Cave Hours during GO Fest 2021.

How to Complete the Cave Collection Challenge

The Cave Collection Challenge shouldn’t cause too much trouble, since you just need to catch the following Pokémon related to the Cave hours:

  • Sableye
  • Zubat
  • Roggenrola
  • Gligar
  • Joltik
  • Ralts
  • Woobat
  • Beldum
  • Galarian Stunfisk
  • Vanillite

Completing the Collection Challenge is going to require you to catch each one of these, which should be pretty easily done just by participating in GO Fest during the two Cave Hours. None of them are going to require you to have Incense either or find them in raids, so just make sure you have the event ticket and explore during the two Cave hours to find them all.

What are the Cave Collection Challenge Rewards

Niantic isn’t being very surprising at all when it comes to the rewards for the four Collection Challenges, as it is the same across each of them. For completing the Cave Collection Challenge, you will be rewarded with 1,000 Stardust, an Incense, and 20 Ultra Balls. While not too much, the 20 Ultra Balls can at least help you catch more Pokémon during GO Fest. On top of that, you will also get the medal for completing the Cave Collection Challenge.

That is it for our guides on how to complete the Cave Collection Challenge and what rewards are given for it during Pokémon GO Fest 2021.

Pokémon GO Fest 2021 – How to Complete the Ocean Beach Collection Challenge https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-go-fest-2021-how-to-complete-the-ocean-beach-collection-challenge/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-go-fest-2021-how-to-complete-the-ocean-beach-collection-challenge/#respond Sat, 17 Jul 2021 02:25:37 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=789689

Next comes the third Collection Challenge for Pokémon GO Fest 2021, this time coming during the Ocean Beach hours. During Pokémon GO Fest 2021, you will be tasked with capturing all of the Pokémon from a group associated with the Ocean Beach hours. To help you catch all of those Pokémon, we have put together a guide to help you with completing the GO Fest Ocean Beach Collection Challenge.

Ocean Beach Collection Challenge Guide

The Ocean Beach Collection Challenges are being held across Saturday and Sunday, though Saturday is going to be when you really want to work towards completing it. You will need a ticket for the event to get these Pokémon, with multiple requiring you to be using an Incense to attract them. You will also be able to get them on Sunday as well, but it will be a mix of all of the hours all day instead, so you are better off on Saturday.

How to Complete the Ocean Beach Collection Challenge

The Ocean Beach Collection Challenge is pretty simple overall, as the way to complete it is to just catch all of the Pokémon that are part of it, which are as follows:

  • Magikarp
  • Wailmer
  • Tympole
  • Chinchou
  • Feebas
  • Carvanha
  • Tynamo
  • Marill
  • Alomomola
  • Swablu

To find these Pokémon, you just need to make sure to be playing during the two Ocean Beach hours specifically. You will find each of these Pokémon in the wild, as none of these are the ones that require you to use an Incense to attract them. However, it can’t hurt using the Incense to help you attract more Pokémon. None of the ones this hour are going to be found in raids either, so don’t worry about them.

What are the Ocean Beach Collection Challenge Rewards

Pokémon GO Fest 2021 is pretty standard when it comes to Collection Challenge Rewards, as they are the same across all four challenges. After collecting all of the Pokémon in the Ocean Beach Collection Challenge, you will be rewarded with 1,000 Stardust, an Incense, and 20 Ultra Balls, as well as the medal for the Collection Challenge.

That concludes out guide for how to complete the GO Fest: Ocean Beach Collection Challenge and the rewards given out for it during Pokémon GO Fest 2021.

Destiny 2 Update 2.24 Patch Notes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/destiny-2-update-2-24-patch-notes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/destiny-2-update-2-24-patch-notes/#respond Thu, 15 Jul 2021 20:38:09 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=789542

Update 2.24 has arrived for Destiny 2 and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. This comes about a week and a half after the last update we got for Destiny 2, but this one is specifically focused on only few fixes rather than any major new content or fixes like the last. This comes directly after server maintenance for the game and is known as Hotfix 3.2.1.1 on the server side and is 01.019.000 on PS5. Here’s everything new with Destiny 2 update 2.24.

Destiny 2 Update 2.24 Patch Notes

Activities

Strikes

  • Fixed an issue where players could exit the play area during the Glassway boss fight.

Gameplay & Investment

Weapons

  • Fixed an issue where the Worldshaper ornament for Izanagi’s Burden would sometimes cause ADS issues when zooming in.

Triumphs

  • Fix for the Catalyst Competitor Triumph not showing complete for players who completed it during Guardian Games.

This latest hotfix that has gone live after server maintenance over the last day brings only a few things within it. Specifically, there are three fixes to issues across three different areas. There was a bug with the Glassway boss fight in Strikes where people could exit the play area. Gameplay also had two fixes in it, one related to weapons and one with Triumphs. The weapon issue was something most players would never come across, but has now been fixed. Probably the biggest fix is that the Catalyst Competitor Triumph was sometimes not showing as completed for people who did it before, but now that should not be a problem after this update. Other than that, nothing else appears to be included in this update, though there could also be some backend adjustments in there as well for stability.

Destiny 2 is available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia. For more information about the game, visit the official Bungie website.

Pokémon GO – How To Get More Poké Balls Before GO Fest 2021 https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-go-how-to-get-more-poke-balls-before-go-fest-2021/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/pokemon-go-how-to-get-more-poke-balls-before-go-fest-2021/#respond Thu, 15 Jul 2021 00:58:17 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=788991

Pokémon GO Fest 2021 is only a few days away at this point and it is looking to be quite the global event again this year. One of the biggest aspects of GO Fest will be the abundance of Pokémon for you to catch throughout the day, including with higher shiny chances. Being prepared for Pokémon GO Fest 2021 is going to be very important and one of the most important things you are going to want to have are plenty of Poké Balls to catch these different Pokémon with.

How To Get More Poké Balls Before GO Fest 2021

Ever since the initial release release of Pokémon GO, there have only been three types of Poké Balls that you can use to catch Pokémon outside of things like raids. These balls are Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls, which are each more effective than the previous one.

With so many Pokémon spawning during Pokémon GO Fest, you’re going to want to have plenty of Poke Balls at your disposal. You will be able to get some during the event as well using these same tactics, but you will definitely be able to prep in advance and get more than you would only during the two day event.

There are a number of different ways to get Poké Balls of the three varieties in the game, so we’ll go over them now to help you prepare for Pokémon Go Fest 2021. First of all is to spin every PokéStop that you see, including Gyms. This will reward you with various items, which almost always include some sort of Poké Balls for you to use.

Similar to the PokéStops are the Gifts you receive from friends in the game. Open up as many as are allowed each day leading up to the event and hope that you have friends to send more to you. This is probably going to be the way to stack up the most Poké Balls overall, but you are still limited by how many friends you have in the game that are regularly sending gifts.

Beyond those two methods, your one other option that will exclusively give you regular Poké Balls is to buy them with in-game coins. The store offers 20 Poké Balls for 100 coins, 100 Poké Balls for 460 coins, and 200 Poké Balls for 800 coins. This is obviously going to be your last resort, but is still an option for people that want to do that. There are also some of the boxes that include Poké Balls as well and there are bound to be special GO Fest boxes available. Hopefully Niantic throws in some of the 1 coin boxes that gives Poké Balls like we’ve seen happen with some events. Either way, keep an eye on the store.

That is our guide for how to get more Poké Balls ahead of Pokémon GO Fest 2021. This same strategies apply for during GO Fest as well, so make sure to participate somewhere with lots of PokéStops, so that you can always stay stocked up while playing.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus Update 2.61 Patch Notes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/granblue-fantasy-versus-update-2-61-patch-notes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/granblue-fantasy-versus-update-2-61-patch-notes/#respond Tue, 13 Jul 2021 05:50:42 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=788740

Update 2.61 has arrived for Granblue Fantasy: Versus and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. This latest update is the first large update since late May and it brings an awful lot to the game. The main attraction here is the new playable character Seox, but there’s plenty to it as well. Here’s everything new with Granblue Fantasy: Versus update 2.61.

Granblue Fantasy: Versus Update 2.61 Patch Notes

*The above content is available with purchase of “GBVS Character Pass 2” or “GBVS Additional Character Set (Seox).”

Seox’s Battle Concept

As the Eternals’ greatest melee fighter, Seox combines fast movement and versatile attacks.

His rushdown attack, Six-Claw Execution, has multiple follow-up attacks that include Archdemon Kick, Wolf’s Howl, Snake Bite, and Shadow Trace. By combining these attacks in close-range combat, foes will have a hard time pinning him down. He also has other rushdown skills such as Empty Hand, an attack from the air, and Gate of Demons, a versatile projectile attack. On top of these and Six-Claw Execution, he has an abundance of options to close the distance.

Seox also has a defensive skill, Thunderflash, that can block foes’ attacks and counter with an attack or movement. This counter skill can be useful in the mid to close-range. His Skybound Art, Six-Ruin’s Enlightenment, produces afterimages of Seox and can put overwhelming pressure on his foes.

Close the gap on foes with Empty Hand or Gate of Demons and initiate Six-Claw Execution to delivery an overwhelming flurry of attacks.

Character Adjustments and Bug Fixes

Gran

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • In order to make Gran’s Overdrive Surge (M) easier to use in the neutral, we raised the attack level. This change makes the attack harder to punish when blocked and increases the number of advantageous situations. And since the attack level and clash level have both been raised, it can now beat the foes’ far standing M pokes and clash with far standing H.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
  • Overdrive Surge
    • Increased the attack level*. The clash level** has also been increased.
    • In accordance with the above attack level adjustment, the frame advantage on counter hit has also been adjusted to be the same value as the previous version.
  • * The attack level is the value given to represent the attack’s strength. Generally, a higher level results in longer hit stun and block stun, and a lower level results in the opposite.
** The clash level is the strength where a clash will initiate. A clash will be initiated if the clash level is the same. If different, the higher level will display “Crush!” and win.

Katalina

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • Katalina’s Light Wall had minimal return on hit, necessitating a follow-up that reduced its usefulness, so we changed the hit property. On a grounded hit, it now has knockback, making it unpunishable on hit even without the follow-up. This also makes it easier to push foes into the corner. We also increased the midair hit stun, so it’s now possible to perform Light Wall > Frontstep > closing standing L. And when it’s charged, even during a grounded hit, it’s now possible to aim for new combos such as Light Wall (charged) > Frontstep > crouching M.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Light Wall
      • With the exception of the fully charged version, launches upon grounded hit.
      • Due to the above change, the knockback on hit has been adjusted and the midair hit stun has been extended.
      • With the exception of the uncharged version, the frame advantage on counter hit has been reduced.

Charlotta

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • The invincibility frames for Charlotta’s Konigsschild have been reduced on whiff. This was adjusted because the skill was invincible throughout its entire anmation, making it difficult for both players to react on whiff.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Konigsschild
      • Invincibility frames have been removed from the end of animation if the counter was successful, but the follow-up attack was not.

Lancelot

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • Lancelot’s hurt box has been adjusted.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Crouching Hurt Box
      • Since his crouching hurt box was comparatively low, the position of the hurt box has been raised to match the other characters.

Percival

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • Percival’s adjustment fixes an issue with Zerreissen (Traumerei ver.). Since it is now only a single hit, it can be blocked with Katalina’s Light Walla nd other similar attacks. Even thought this does not change the recovery, when the skill is blocked or hits a guard point, the gained amount in the SBA Gauge as well as both players’ positions has been changed.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Zerreissen (Traumerei ver.)
      • Fixed an issue where the skill counted as two hits when it was blocked or hit a guard point. The skill now has been changed to a single hit when blocked or hitting a guard point.

Ferry

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • Ferry’s adjustment only affects RPG Mode.
  • Issues (RPG Mode Only)
    • Hinrichten
      • The effect duration will not longer decrease during Ferry’s Skybound Art, Super Skybound Art, or support skills.

Zeta

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • Zeta’s hurt box has been adjusted.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Crouching Hurt Box
      • Since her crouching hurt box was comparatively low, the position of the hurt box has been raised to match the other characters.

Beelzebub

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • The invincibility frames when Beelzebub’s Karma clashes with another projectile and does not hit foes have been reduced. This was adjusted because the skill was invincible throughout its entire animation, making it difficult for both players to react on whiff.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Karma
      • Invincibility frames at the end of the animation have been removed when the skill clashes with another projectile.

Zooey

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • The invincibility frames when Zooey’s Last Wish clashes with another projectile have been reduced. This was adjusted because the skill was invincible throughout its entire animation, making it difficult for both players to react on whiff.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Last Wish
      • Invincibility frames at the end of the animation have been removed when the skill clashes with another projectile.

Belial

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • Belial’s jumping U was a powerful tool that could be used for pressure and combos while the Vassago (+) was powerful for breaking guards. We adjusted both, so foes could counter them more easily. When jumping U is blocked, we made it easier for foes to adjust after the block by having Belial land. It’s still fairly difficult to punish after blocking it, but puts Belial in a disadvantageous situation. On top of that, it’s hard to initiate a combo on standing or midair hit. We also made it harder to go for large damage when it hits foes who are attempting to throw (or throw break). This change prevents Belial from going on the offense on block. Still, there is no change to the frame advantage on crouching hit, so it’s still possible to continue the combo after hitting foes when they try to anti-air with crouching H. Finally, we increased the start-up of the quick portion for Vassago (+) and made it possible for foes to avoid it by juping. Due to the increase in start-up, the recovery has also been reduced, so it is still difficult to punish after a successful evasion.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Jumping U
      • Upon blocking, the bounce animation will not trigger, and Belial will land. In this situation, the recovery frames have all been standardized, regardless of height.
      • Reduced the attack level*. Hit stun and block stun have been reduced, but the hit stun on crouching has not been changed.
      • Reduced the frame advantage on counter hit.
      • * The attack level is the value given to represent the attack’s strength. Generally, a higher level results in longer hit stun and block stun, and a lower level results in the opposite.
    • Vassago (+)
      • Increased the quick start-up (only affected when used at close range).
      • Due to the start-up change, the recovery has been reduced on whiff.

Cagliostro

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • Cagliostro has been adjusted to make her precise moves more user-friendly. Since her crouching H’s upper hit box was notably low, we extended the stretched area to make it more useful for anti-airs. The overall frames for Spare Body (L) have been reduced so it can be used as a feint for other actions. Even when the skill is used after a blocked attack, it gives more chances to block foes’ Skybound Arts. Finally, when Spare Body (+) is used in a combo, it would sometimes whiff on certain characters. We extended the hit box and made it harder to whiff.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Crouching H
      • Increased the active frames. Overall frames have also been increased.
    • Spare Body (L) ( Ground)
      • Reduced the movement distance and overall animation frames.
    • Spare Body (+)
      • Extended the hit box forward.

Yuel

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • In order to make it possible to crush foes’ pokes with Yuel’s Third Dance follow-ups, we raised Guren’s (charged ver.) clash level. Upon hit, the return has been increased and when used at midscreen, the knockback has been increased, making it easier to carry to the corner. Upon counter hit in the corner, it is now easier to initiate a combo. Since Eye of the Sparrow was invincible throughout its entire animation, it was difficult for both players to react on whiff, so the invincibility has been removed from the end of the animation.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Eye of the Sparrow
      • Invincibility frames at the end of the animation have been removed.
    • Guren (Charged ver.)
      • Increased the clash level*.
      • Increased the knockback distance.
      • Will now wall bounce on counter hit in the corner.
      • * The clash level is the strength where a clash will initiate. A clash will be initiated if the clash level is the same. If different, the higher level will display “Crush!” and win.

Anre

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • We increased  the midair hit stun from Mantra Wheel (M) so that even when Anre cannot use Spiral Spear, he’ll be able to use crouching H as an anti-air. This also makes it easier to get a knockdown from the air (making it possible to tech off the ground.) Due to this adjustment, when the skill hits at a high point, it’s now possible to go for additional attacks. We also increased the effect duration for Seven Spears of Lightning, in order to get damage from his pokes such as far standing M. The duration has been significantly increased, so that the spear will not disappear if connected attack has a long duration.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Mantra Wheel (Ground) (M)
      • Increased the midair hit stun.
    • Seven Spears of Lightning
      • Increased the effect duration.
  • Issues (RPG Mode Only)
    • Seven Spears of Lightning
      • The effect duration will no longer decrease during Anre’s Skybound Art, Super Skybound Art, or support skills.

Eustace

  • Purpose of Adjustment
    • We adjusted Eustace’s normal atttacks and skills to make them easier to use. Slow Kill (charged ver.) on counter hit will now treat the second hit as counter hit as well. It will have no effect grounded, but when it counter hits in midair, it is not easier to go for additional attacks. The start-up for Slow Kill (+) has also been reduced, so when Eustace is next to his foes in the corner, he can go for a crouching L > crouching L > far standing L > Slow Kill (+) combo. The timing for Flamek Thunder’s cooldown has also been reduced. When using the technical command, Flamek Thunder can be used again immediately, so that even when it whiffs on foes, it can still be fired rapidly. Stunlight will also now leave foes closer in the corner and, when it counter hits in the corner on standing foes, it’s possible to follow up with an additional close standing L. Finally, Assault Knife’s start-up has been reduced, allowing Eustace to go for punishes and combos such as far standing L > Close Combat (L) > Assault Knife on standing foes. The midair hit stun has also been increased, creating more opportunities to go for knockdowns (making ground tech possibly) when used as an anti-air.
  • Issues (Versus Mode Only)
    • Crouching H (Additional Attack)
      • Increased the active frames.
      • Reducing the recovery. Due to the adjustments to the active frames, there are no changes to the overall frames.
      • Reduced the knockback distance.
    • Jumping L
      • Extended the hit box backwards.
    • Jumping U
      • Extended the starting hit box diagonally downwards.
      • Adjusted the knockback when Rat Race (+) explodes. Reduced the knockback distance and increased the height on hit.
    • Slow Kill (Charged ver.)
      • The check timing for the button input has been slightly increased to mitigate the difficulty of simple command inputs.
      • On counter hit, the second hit is now treated as a counter hit
    • Slow Kill (+)
      • Reduced the start-up.
    • Flamek Thunder
      • Cooldown now starts up when the projectile is fired.
      • Flamek Thunder is now useable even before the projectile disappears.
    • Flamek Thunder (Charged ver.)
      • The check timing for the button input has been slightly increased to mitigate the difficulty of simple command inputs.
    • Stunlight
      • On hit or block in the corner, the distance between foes have been reduced.
    • Assault Knife
      • Reduced the start-up.
      • Increased the mid-air hit stun.
    • Acidrage Howl
      • When hit under specific conditions, the multi-attack section would whiff on occasion. The foes will now move right in front of Eustace on the first hit.

Others

  • Character adjustments will also affect certain parts of RPG mode.
  • Fixed text bugs.
  • Applied minor bug fixes.

Arc System Works did not hold back in this latest update and the above patch notes, as you can see all that has changed in this game. There’s not only the addition of the new character Seox, but there’s a lot more involved as well. A lot of this involves character balancing, which you can read about in full details about above.

FIFA 22 Brings Back Mbappe As Cover Star For Second Straight Year https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/fifa-22-brings-back-mbappe-as-cover-star-for-second-straight-year/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/news/fifa-22-brings-back-mbappe-as-cover-star-for-second-straight-year/#respond Sun, 11 Jul 2021 22:17:03 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=788542

It’s getting ever closer to the release of the latest game in the annual FIFA franchise, with people even more excited due to the UEFA Euro 2020 that just wrapped up with Italy defeating England today. While there are still a few months until the release of FIFA 22, EA Sports has been releasing little bits of information here and there. New animations were recently announced for the next-gen consoles and now the very familiar cover athlete has been revealed as well.

EA Sports just unveiled the cover athlete for FIFA 22, who just happens to be Kylian Mbappe, star of Paris Saint-Germain and the French National Team as well. Mbappe graced the cover last year for FIFA 21 as well, but this isn’t the first time this has happened before as Christiano Ronaldo was on the cover for both FIFA 18 and FIFA 19.

Mbappe is a superstar in the sport and is well deserving of getting the cover again, which looks pretty sleek. The cover itself just looks like the image at the top of the article with the part of him put onto the cover of FIFA 22 for the Ultimate Edition, while there is a plain version with him on the cover. Regardless of the version, the cover is definitely a lot more lowkey than last year’s cover.

FIFA 22 will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and Stadia on October 1, with Ultimate Edition buyers getting early access on September 27.

Madden 22 Closed Community Playtest Hands-On Preview https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/madden-22-closed-community-playtest-hands-on-preview/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/articles/madden-22-closed-community-playtest-hands-on-preview/#respond Wed, 07 Jul 2021 23:54:04 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=787095

Madden 22 is set to arrive in about a month and a half with the first year where it will be simultaneously be releasing on both the now current generation consoles and the last generation consoles. With these new platforms bring new possibilities for Madden 22, including the brand new Dynamic Gameday features. Ahead of the game’s release, EA Sports held a closed Community Playtest for Madden 22 and we got a chance to try out the game with its new and refined features.

There are a number of new features to be found in Madden 22, but Dynamic Gameday is definitely the most involved across all of the game’s modes. As a result, that’s what we decided to try out first through the game’s Play Now feature. What was neat here was that the Community Playtest allowed us to pick any teams we wanted to use here in Play Now, rather than sticking us exclusively with the previous Super Bowl matchup like in many past betas. This really helped to get a glimpse at all that Dynamic Gameday has to offer with the varying teams and their home stadiums.

The next-gen exclusive Dynamic Gameday is made up of three parts, Gameday Atmosphere, Gameday Momentum, and Next Gen Stats Star-Driven AI. Gameday Atmosphere could be seen immediately with the stadiums in the game that are made to look better than ever, though we did not get a deep dive into the different stadiums during this playtest unfortunately.

As far as the Gameday Momentum, that is seen very quickly in the game via the meter found right by the score at the top of the screen. This is similar to what we had in the past with NCAA Football 14, but here it is much more involved with different tiers. When one team does something good, such as scoring a touchdown or getting a big sack, the meter moves in their direction. That can mean that the home field team gets one of three special perks or the visiting team can take some of that momentum away and make them lose said perks. I did think it was a bit annoying that you could gain access to the top tier perk and then one bad play wipes it away immediately. Considering the time it takes to build to that meter, it feels like they could require a few bad plays to happen to make it go away instead. While there are are a number of shared perks across teams, there are plenty of exclusive ones too that will make the whole experience all the better. It did still feel like it was a little hard to tell what would cause the meter to move certain amounts specifically, but that’s something that players will probably figure out the more they play.

Madden 22’s new Next Gen Stats Star-Driven AI was also good to see in action, with the players seeming to react more naturally than before. Unfortunately the new rookies in the league that were just drafted did not have accurate ratings, so we could not really see them in action too much, but that’s where it will be very interesting to see how Madden 22 handles the new players with the AI. This was also seen with the game planning at the start of the game, where you can choose what offensive and defensive strategy you want to employ in the game. This also included the ability to change the up during half time adjustments as well, which was very useful at helping to pick out plays for a specific game plan.

The development team behind Madden 22 has also made a point to make the physics engine feel even more realistic when it comes to player weights and height related to momentum on the field. The goal here is to make it seem more true to life based on how a smaller or larger player would be tackled versus the size of the player that is tackling them. You could definitely tell there were some improvements here from what we got to play, though that is something that will definitely more visible the more you play as well compared to a smaller sample size.

While not a brand new feature outright, Madden 22 has finally brought the much needed revamps to Franchise mode that people have been asking for. This includes not just a new interface that is much easier to navigate, but also how it works as a whole. Staff management and the related skill tree for each of the staff positions is a major new inclusion here, which is something that seems pretty basic, yet should pay great dividends long term in Franchise.

The major downside of Franchise in the Community Playtest was that there were a lot of bugs and just things being unfinished, but that is something that the development team let us know before hand. This was basically just a glimpse at what Franchise is going to offer more than letting us try to run our own full Franchise during the playtest. It would be assumed that all of this will be fixed and ready for the launch of the game in August, especially with us having to wait until September for the scouting update.

Considering these were the major new features or upgrades in Madden 22, this is where we spent the majority of our time with the Community Playtest. A few of the other modes were also available like Ultimate Team and The Yard, but we didn’t focus on them anywhere near as much. It definitely does look like the development team is going to bring us an exciting entry this year and we are excited to see what more it has to offer.

Madden 22 releases for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on August 20.

Overwatch Update 3.14 Patch Notes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/overwatch-update-3-14-patch-notes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/overwatch-update-3-14-patch-notes/#respond Tue, 06 Jul 2021 20:28:01 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=787906

Update 3.14 has arrived for Overwatch and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. Two weeks ago came one of the most anticipated patches for Overwatch since its launch, which many people thought may never happen until possibly the sequel. That feature was cross-play across different platforms for the game, which makes the player pool even larger for each platform. This came as part of update 3.13 for the June 22 update, but now we have the follow-up update. Like we often see coming after major patches like 3.13, update 3.14 now looks to hopefully clean up any issues that have popped up since. Here’s everything new with Overwatch update 3.14.

Overwatch Update 3.14 Patch Notes

General Updates

  • Backend stability improvements

This type of patch brings us back to the ones we often get for different consoles, where it just says the update was for stability. With this update, the only thing that Blizzard is saying happened is “backend stability improvements.” This can mean a lot of different things though, whether it’s specifically fixing stuff from the most recent patch or other issues in the past.

Considering that Overwatch just added cross-play for the first time, it’s likely the development team has come across numerous issues as reported by players with the new system. That is why it would be likely to assume that the majority of the backend stability improvements are related to the cross-play itself, but there’s likely plenty of other areas that have been improved as well. It’s unlikely that any character balancing has been made with this update either, as they are usually very upfront about those and what they have changed in the game.

Overwatch is available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. For more information regarding this patch, visit the official Overwatch website.

Warframe Update 2.00 Patch Notes https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/warframe-update-2-00-patch-notes/ https://attackofthefanboy.com/guides/warframe-update-2-00-patch-notes/#respond Tue, 06 Jul 2021 19:52:24 +0000 https://attackofthefanboy.com/?p=787859

Update 2.00 has arrived for Warframe and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. This is not just a small update with a few bug fixes in it either, but a meaty update known as 30.5 overall that brings in the Sisters of Parvos. This follows up on update 30.1.0 from May. There is no shortage of content in this update, so we have provided the full patch notes for it. Here’s everything new with the Warframe update 2.00.

Warframe Update 2.00 Patch Notes

SISTERS OF PARVOS
Parvos Granum’s days of collecting grain are far behind him. His newest grand achievement, born of technology and a desire for family, has finally come to fruition. Modeled with the latest in Corpus advancements, the Sisters of Parvos are ready to claim their Sectors and your lives.

The Kuva Lich system, originally introduced in the Old Blood update on Halloween of 2019, has expanded to introduce a new faction! The Sisters of Parvos update will bring your own personal Corpus adversary to the Origin System. Those acquainted with the Kuva Lich system will find familiarity with the Sisters of Parvos, but with a full Corpus experience!

A new cinematic awaits those who have finished The Call of The Tempestarii and The War Within…

SISTERS OF PARVOS WEAPONS
Be on the lookout for these coveted weapons wielded by your Sister of Parvos! Bestowed by Parvos Granum himself, there are 8 weapons in all to obtain!

TENET ENVOY
This discreet rocket launcher is equally at home in a board meeting or on a casual outing. Aimed rockets are wire-guided for greater accuracy, but travel more slowly. The patented Granum Attaché System reloads the weapon when holstered.

TENET DIPLOS
Itemize and execute with this pair of auto-lock-on, homing-projectile pistols. Shoot from-hip for a more conventional pistol experience. The patented Granum Attaché System reloads the pistols when holstered.

TENET SPIREX
Dominate rivals with this pistol’s lightning fast rail-slugs. Head-shots speed up reload.

Primary Variants:
TENET TETRA

Parvosian upgrade of the classic Tetra. Slower fire rate but with a larger magazine. Can now alt fire entire clip as a large burst radius grenade launcher.

TENET FLUX RIFLE
Sister-modified Flux Rifle with increased fire rate and range. Recharge has been replaced with ammo clips to accommodate greater power needs.

TENET ARCA PLASMOR
Custom variant of a Corpus classic. Staggering blasts now ricochet and have greater range at the cost of a slower fire and reload speed. Surviving enemies are consumed with radiation.

Secondary Variants:
TENET CYCRON
This reengineered Cycron features a refracting energy disc that can split off the main target hitting up to 2 additional nearby targets.

TENET DETRON
Parvos Granum’s engineers have made this already ferocious hand-cannon, even more deadly with addition of an alternate fire mode that empties an entire clip in one devastating burst.

SISTERS OF PARVOS EPHEMERAS
Seven New Ephemeras sporting a distinctly Corpus Style are here!

SYBILLINA EPHEMERA
Information flows like live current through this Ephemera seized from a converted or vanquished Sister of Parvos.

ZARINA EPHEMERA

SOLENA EPHEMERA
A magnetically compelling Ephemera seized from a converted or vanquished Sister of Parvos.

HOUND COMPANIONS
Each Corpus Sister comes with their very own Hound. As an added reward for Vanquishing your Sister, you’ll earn her Hound as your own Companion! There’s more, though! Hounds are also Modular Companions and in addition to earning your Sister’s Hound, there’s also a chance at a separate Hound Component to start the process of creating your truly customized Hound Companion! Each Hound you come across can have a subset of different Components (think MOA Companion Crafting).

Hound Component Blueprints are tradeable. Visit Legs in Fortuna to assemble a Hound Companion with your Components! Here you can also Provide your Hound to Legs for 4K Solaris United Standing. This amount is higher in comparison to MOA Companions due to the acquisition flow required for a Hound.

*Building a Hound includes a weapon, therefore requiring 2 Companion Slots.

HOUND PRECEPTS

Hound Precepts are rewarded based on the Model, Bracket, and Stabilizer chosen at Legs in Fortuna.

*Precept stats below are at max rank.

NEW KUVA LICH WEAPONS
Snickety-snack, guess who’s back with more weapons? Kuva Liches!

Be on the lookout for Kuva Larvlings with the following new weapons:

KUVA HEK
Forged at the behest of the Worm Queen herself, this already powerful shotgun now has the additional ability to fire from all four barrels simultaneously.

KUVA GRATTLER
Reconfigured for maximum lethality, the Kuva Grattler still shatters targets with explosive shells, but now reaches maximum fire-rate instantaneously.

KUVA ZARR
An even stronger Zarr cannon to meet the demands of Kuva Liches. With stronger explosive barrages, and long-range flak shots.

LICH ADDITIONS, CHANGES & FIXES

Murmur Reduction
With the addition of the Sisters of Parvos to the Lich system we took another look at the overall Murmur requirement from a few angles: how the current Murmur requirement applied to Sisters and how it felt with the current Kuva Liches.

As a result, we’ve reduced the Murmur requirements so that getting all 3 Requiems solely by killing Thralls should be about 12-13 missions on average, down from 18-19 average.

Region Consistency for Matchmaking improvements

We have changed the way you progress against your Lich by having consistent Influence regions per level of your Lich!.

The problem we aim to solve here is scattered matchmaking for players seeking Murmurs overall. Players would often have the same goal but never cross paths due to their Liches separation across the Origin System.

The details of this change are:

1) Rank 1 Kuva Liches appear on Earth
2) Rank 2 Kuva Liches appear on Mars
3) Rank 3 Kuva Liches appear on Ceres
4) Rank 4 Kuva Liches appear on Sedna
5) Rank 5 Kuva Liches appear on the Kuva Fortress

*Please note: if you had an Active Lich before the Update, it’ll progress through its current occupation nodes before it adopts the new Region flow.

New Requiem Mod – OULL
Through endless faces, countless forms, a multitude unfolds.
(Mimics any Requiem Mod needed to complete a lethal sequence)

This new Oull Requiem Mod counts as the correct Requiem Sequence for whatever Parazon Requiem slot it is in when taking down a Lich or Sister of Parvos! Like other Requiem Mods, the Oull can be used successfully 3 times.

Earn this new Requiem as a 25% drop chance when your Kuva Lich or Sister of Parvos flees after you’ve used the correct Requiem Sequence. *This Requiem only drops for the person whose Lich/Sister is downed.

New REQUIEM ULTIMATUM
Take control of your nemesis with the new REQUIEM ULTIMATUM – a call too powerful to resist! A new Gear item that can be used to spawn your current active Kuva Lich or Sister on an Influence Node to bring the fight to you! Our intention here is to add an option to force the feud in your favor.

Earn this Requiem Ultimatum as a 25% drop chance when choosing to either Convert or Vanquish your Kuva Lich or Sister of Parvos. *This Requiem only drops for the person whose Lich/Sister is downed.

New Kuva Lich Showdown Flow

Do you and your Squad have what it takes to beat your Kuva Lich Showdown?

Kuva Liches have also received the new boss showdown flow in Railjack! Your Kuva Lich will now flee to their Galleon once you’ve weakened them with the correct Requiem sequence. Once you’ve unlocked their Requiem, a new showdown node will appear within the Saturn Proxima (minimum Intrinsic 5). You and any other Tenno who have weakened Liches will be able to seek out and destroy!

Our intent behind this change is to match our TennoCon 2019 Lich Showdown presentation. In doing this, we’ve also eliminated the randomness of that final showdown. These are guaranteed fights that you can gear up before you go in! Bring your best gear for the job.

Between reducing the required Murmurs, adding OULL, adding Requiem Ultimatums, and having this new flow, we have shortened the Kuva Lich cycle and added more control for all Tenno! The final fight is now on your terms, and we hope you enjoy the efforts to improve and simplify this system!

Kuva Lich (And Sister of Parvos) Valence Fusion QOL:

We have made Valence Fusion for Weapons more intuitive in this Update! We are inheriting the behaviour we added for Railjack which was much more clear to our players!

  • Prior to this Update, when you used Valence Fusion to combine two Kuva Lich weapons together in the Arsenal, the order of the weapons picked would determine which element the final bonus damage would be.
  • In this update, when you combine two Kuva Lich weapons (or Sister Tenet weapons) together, you will have the option of which element you want to keep.  The numerical stat of the element still combines using the same logic as previously.
    • This is intended to reduce confusion about the end result you will get, and to make it easier to keep a desired element. Now you don’t need to fuse twice to restore your initial element type if you are combining weapons with different elements.

Adaptive Damage Scaling Changes for Liches:

Throughout our boss design history, we have added things like diminishing returns and damage mitigation techniques like armor or damage attenuation. In the time since we’ve launched the Kuva Liches, we’ve made adjustments to how we handle player damage vs. Liches. We’ve done things like add allowing Status Effects and attenuate damage to try and create a balanced combat experience. Like many bosses in Warframe, Liches have some damage modifiers applied to them.

We found a bug in the damage attenuation code, and have fixed it and polished the attenuation for Kuva Liches.

This system generally targets the scenario of very high damage things like the Void Rig’s Arquebex vs. a Kuva Lich, a scenario that is now possible due to the final showdown being based in Railjack. When we were testing this Voidrig Vs Lichout, our Liches barely lasted a second and we realized the damage attenuation code could use some review! We found bugs to fix and things to tweak to account for these new scenarios. Our only intention is to give you a fight that lasts more than mere seconds – happy hunting and may your teamwork and gear lead you to victory! We will be closely reviewing this to ensure we strike the right balance of a fight that requires teamwork and consistent offensive gameplay to beat, but also doesn’t feel impossible. Feedback is welcome!

General Lich Changes & Fixes:

  • Updated the Lich Tutorial screen to include new Lich flow and Sisters related information.
  • Changed the “Captured Liches” category to “Converted Adversaries” in the Trade window.
  • If you do not have any Kuva Lich or Sisters of Parvos history in your Codex, a pop-up message will appear to tell you that you have not encountered any.
  • Added new Kuva Lich transmissions for the following scenarios:
    • Lich Defeated Player Taunt
    • Lich Downed Player
    • Lich Kills Player
  • Fixed failing Requiem Mods sequence affecting the appearance of other players’ Kuva Liches.
  • Fixed holding the Parazon as if it was a sidearm if a Host migration occurred during the Kuva Lich Parazon stab animation.
  • Fixed instances where Parazon would become invisible or not animating during Kuva Lich attempts.
  • Fixed getting stuck in other players’ Kuva Lich stab cinematics.

PARAZON REWORK

Parazon attacks were introduced in The Old Blood as a way to Mercy kill enemies. This stylish and universal blade has had a clear role in all things Liches, but their role in the game at large has been hard to play around. There are problems in need of solving, and the below outlines how we’ve done just that!

The problem with Mercy kills is they are hard to pull off, making engagement with the system far too low! Mercy kills only have a chance to trigger when an enemy’s health is 20% HP or less. In practice, you really never know if it’s going to happen. And if it does, it is often too late! You’ve riddled them with Status effects, a Squadmate casts an Ability, or your Kavat might be feeling extra bloodthirsty, and you cannot get in for the Mercy kill.

We are changing their design, adding new Mods (thanks Design Council!), and refreshing the system.

The change is based on a core principle: We want to make them more reliable and more strategic so you can actively decide if you want to use a Mercy kill or not.

Our change is rooted in the following:

A Mercy Kill opportunity is guaranteed when an enemy gets below 40% (60% for Corpus, but requires all Shields being stripped), but only on SPECIFIC units in each faction.

The units are:

  • All humanoid Eximus
  • Grineer
    • Heavy Gunners
    • Bombards
  • Corpus
    • Scrambus
    • Nullifiers
  • Infested
    • Ancients

And the logic is rooted in the following common scenario:

Imagine you see a heavy gunner in the distance. You have “Blood for Energy” on your Parazon. You see you need some Energy, so you start shooting the heavy gunner knowing full well once she’s at 40%, she will be open for a Mercy kill and the Energy could be yours!

You can plan and decide!

This also means that Impact Status Effect is changing:

Before: Impact Status Effects used to increase the chance that the random Mercy kill opportunity  would happen.

After: Impact Status Effects increases the Mercy Kill threshold range on eligible enemies. So instead of triggering at 40% on the list above, you can apply Impact Status to do a Mercy kill sooner (4% per Status)… up to 80%. Meaning, applying a lot of Impact Status quickly makes an enemy VIP more quickly susceptible to a Mercy Kill. Impact would then be a build strategy for getting the VIPs out of the fight!

But what about really high levels you ask?

We have made changes to this since our original Developer Workshop.

Up until level 150, the Parazon Finisher triggers at 40% Health remaining.
After that, every 5 levels reduces the threshold by 1%, down to a minimum of 10%! Eligible Enemy Health bars will have a notch on them to indicate these thresholds..

This change was made to make it more clear to our players, as well as still approach guaranteed kills at high levels with an amount of balance.

In addition, since Parazons were reworked, Zephyr’s Airburst no longer overlaps with finishers.

TENET AGENDUS
Drive the agenda with this massive impact hammer. Heavy attacks launch devastating energy disks.

TENET EXEC
Leverage bleeding-edge Granum tech with this massive heavy blade. Slam sends forth a cascading set of three shockwaves, while Heavy Slam unleashes a swath of shockwaves.

TENET LIVIA
The sleek lines of the Granum Attaché case conceal a infinitely sharp two-handed blade. Blocked attacks have a chance to increase the blocking angle. Note: The Granum Attaché system pauses the combo timer when holstered. Similar to the Xoris, if you have a Melee weapon with infinite combo duration, pseudo-melee abilities consume the Combo on use.

TENET GRIGORI
On Heavy Slide Attack this Corpus scythe launches a spinning energy disk that ricochets throughout the battlefield. Its lifetime is derived from the size of the Combo Counter. Note: The Granum Attaché system pauses the combo timer when holstered. Similar to the Xoris, if you have a Melee weapon with infinite combo duration, pseudo-melee abilities consume the Combo on use.

RAILJACK ADDITIONS, CHANGES & FIXES

    • These Elite Crewmates have two more Competency Points and they have a random trait based on which of their Competencies have the most points.

      • For example: If their Gunnery skills have the most Competency Points, this Crew member could have “50% more damage with Zetki weapons”. If their Piloting skills have the most Competency Points, this Crew member could have “Increase effectiveness of Lavan engines by 25%”. So on and so forth!

  • Corpus Spy and Survival missions have been added into the Corpus Proxima regions! With these additional game modes come completely new reward tables including the new AMBASSADOR weapon (see below), Ash Components, Railjack Mods, Parazon Mods, and much more! STEEL PATH & LOOT CHANGES
In the Deimos Arcana update, we made several changes to the Steel Path and the acquisition of Steel Essence. Our stated goals were to move away from long endurance missions as the most efficient way to collect Steel Essence, while also reducing randomness. After observing player trends, a loot strategy involving both of these elements has come up once again, making regular unoptimized Steel Path play feel less worthwhile.

With the number of new Steel Path rewards being introduced in this update, we wanted to address those strategies, while also bringing up the lower average. We hope these changes reinforce one of this update’s main themes – you should be able to play the game however you want, without feeling forced into prevalent strategies.

  • Acolytes will now spawn more frequently during Steel Path missions, resulting in more Steel Essence being dropped overall!
  • Steel Path Incursions will each offer a reward of 5 Steel Essence, increased from 3.
  • Steel Essence will now remain on the ground for 5 minutes before disappearing. If the UI marker is blinking, be sure to get it before it’s gone!
  • For consistency, Vitus Essence follows the same rules and will remain on the ground for 5 minutes before disappearing.
  • Acolytes will now be teleported to a safe location if pulled into water. This fixes Itzal’s Cosmic Crush pulling Acolytes into water volumes where they instantly died.
  • Fixed Acolyte spawns becoming extremely slow or stopping altogether in specific Steel Path mission types – most commonly reproduced in Disruption or Survival.

Acolytes will now drop 1 of 6 New Arcanes on death!

The Arsenal Divide

Tenno,

When choosing weapons for a mission, the Tenno have a lot to consider…

  • Which weapons are strong enough for me to fight at this level?
  • Which weapons are best against this faction?
  • Which weapons are the most efficient and easy to use?
  • Which weapons do I have the most fun with?
  • Which Mods make these weapons perform best?

The average player will ask themselves at least one of these questions (usually more) before making a selection. Not all weapons are built equal, but ideally there are several answers to each query, so that Tenno can make their own choices from a variety of options and keep things fresh. If one category of weapons outclasses all the others, or makes them feel redundant, then we as developers want to step in to make sure choice exists for the sake of fun.

Enter melee weapons, and equally importantly, the Mods you can use on them. Tenno have spent years sharpening their blades, but as a result, we’ve seen Primary and Secondary weapons collecting rust. And the longer we avoid addressing it, the worse this divide will become.

We are changing Melee and Primary in for the singular purpose of making the combat experience more balanced, especially at high level play (Steel Path, etc).

Generally speaking, we feel that gun stats are in a good place, but it’s the Mods that are lacking. Inversely, some Melee Mods are too strong. We intend to address these issues in two ways: firstly, careful nerfs to a handful of Melee Mods; secondly, by offering greater strength for the rest of your Arsenal with Primary and Secondary Arcanes and new Galvanized Mods.

Our goal is to encourage you to use your entire Arsenal in-mission. Switching between Primary, Secondary, and Melee weapons should feel like valid and strategic options, in contrast to the uncontested Melee dominance that exists in the current meta. We want Melee to be fun and powerful as you rip and tear your way through the solar system but we want players to have that same level of fun and power with Primary and Secondary weapons should that be their preference.

The option to choose is key here — one that is lessened by the current divide between Melee and everything else. Our approach to lessen this divide will be through changes to existing Mods, the addition of new Mods, as well as introducing new Primary and Secondary Weapon Upgrades.

Melee Mod Nerfs

We have 5 categories of changes coming:

Berserker
Bloodrush
Condition Overload
Glaives
Kuva Nukor

Berserker:

Attack Speed increases for Melee are part of what makes it so dominant. This is especially true when the conditions to reach animation-breaking Attack Speed are as simple as current Berserker: ‘on Critical Hit’. Infinite Attack-Speed Uptime is possible with a single Mod, and the result is animation noise with no distinction between hits, coupled with massive Damage output.

We still want to support the ability to increase your Melee Attack Speed and Damage Output, just not to the levels you currently can.

Berserker is changing from:
+30% Attack Speed (Max 75%) for 24s on Critical Hit

To:
Berserker Fury, cannot stack with Fury.
On Melee Kill:
+35% Attack Speed (Max 70%)  for 10s. Stacks up to 2x.

This is important because:

– It decouples it from Critical Chance.
– Adds a more defined ramp up using ‘On Kill’ instead of On Crit (which frequently meant 0 to ‘Max’ in one swing hitting 3 enemies).
– Renamed to Berserker Fury to communicate that it can no longer be equipped with Fury / Primed Fury.

Blood Rush:

Blood Rush’s maximum value is being lowered. This changes the achievability of consistent Red Crits from just one Mod (on most Melee weapons, some High-Critical exceptions), and now additional help will be needed via Mods, Arcanes, or Warframe abilities to achieve consistent Red Crits.

One Mod alone generally delivering the best tier of Criticals felt too powerful.

Blood Rush is changing from:
+60% Critical Chance stacks with Combo Multiplier

To
+40% Critical Chance stacks with Combo Multiplier

Condition Overload:

Condition Overload’s maximum value is being lowered. It’s been some time since we originally changed this Mod, and in this time we’ve decided we’re still not happy with the way this goes up against other Damage Mods (namely Primed Pressure Point). We’ve reduced this to 80% to make it almost as good as Primed Pressure Point, and 3 Status Types back to where it was originally. It remains true that even though the maximum potential damage is lower now, we think it is still an extremely powerful Mod in its latest iteration.

There should now be a more meaningful choice: do you want front loaded damage or a build up from multiple Status Types?

Condition Overload is changing from:
+120% Melee Damage per Status Type affecting the target.

To
+80% Melee Damage per Status Type affecting the target.
Weapon Changes

Glaives

In late 2020, we reworked the Glaive melee class to be more powerful and comfortable to use. Overall, we feel these changes had their intended effect as weapons like the Glaive Prime skyrocketed from obscurity to the top of the pile with their newfound ability to inflict huge damage using heavy attacks.

However, these changes also introduced a common issue: players with high melee attack speed would sometimes accidentally throw their Glaives when trying to perform simple melee strikes, and the “catch and release” mechanic sometimes resulted in multiple unintended throws. In reviewing our Melee system, we felt it was a good opportunity to address this concern, while also doing a balancing pass to reflect the power in this newly reworked melee class.

That said, our two changes to Glaives go hand in hand:

First, the heavy attack wind-up speed is being increased from 0.6 seconds to 1.2 seconds. With more time on the wind-up, it is much harder to accidentally throw when you are trying to swing.

With this increased wind-up speed, players are also more capable of performing quick throws. Right now the damage on quick throws is very close to fully charged, so in order to encourage more meaningful choice, our second change is to reduce quick throw damage to approximately 50% of the maximum charge. Exact number changes are as follows:

Cerata
Direct Hit Damage from 366 to 201
Radial Damage from 549 to 333

Falcor
Direct Hit Damage from 460 to 250
Radial Damage from 690 to 345

Glaive
Direct Hit Damage from 210 to 116
Radial Damage from 315 to 190

Glaive Prime
Direct Hit Damage from 328 to 180
Radial Damage from 492 to 296

Halikar
Direct Hit Damage from 298 to 163
Radial Damage from 447 to 225

Halikar Wraith
Direct Hit Damage from 503 to 263
Radial Damage from 621 to 329

Kestrel
Direct Hit Damage from 168 to 92
Radial Damage from 252 to 126

Orvius
Direct Hit Damage from 390 to 215
Radial Damage from to 520 to 293

Pathocyst
Direct Hit Damage from 524 to 288
Radial Damage from 786 to 393

Xoris
Direct Hit Damage from 240 to 120
Radial Damage from 480 to 250

Kuva Nukor

We are indeed touching 1 non-Melee item in the series of Nerfs, and likely to no one’s surprise it’s the Kuva Nukor. It’s a dominant Secondary with incredible power, which is warranted given its acquisition. It’ll keep all of its signature behaviour, but the general output is being notched down slightly with the following change:
– Chains targets reduced to 2 from 4

Vermisplicer

Reduced the Vermisplicers tendril chains from 5 to 3.

After the original publication of our Dev Workshop, we observed and noted that the Vermisplicer’s behaviour is very similar to the Kuva Nukor. To this end, we wanted to ensure we were consistent in handling the beam chain weapons in this update.

Onward to Primary & Secondary…

With all the information about how we are lessening power in some ways, let’s move onto the way we are increasing the power available to Primary & Secondary weapon options.

Primary and Secondary Weapon Arcanes

We are going to start with the biggest change: You can now add Arcane Slots (name not final) to your Primary and Secondary weapons, and fill the Slots with new Arcanes that enhance and reward diverse gameplay.

Our entire approach to making Guns a comparable choice in your Arsenal orbits around the notion that Gunplay is fundamentally more varied than Melee: there are pinpoint accuracy guns, AOE guns, and high fire rate Guns (and everything in between). There’s reload times, magazine sizes, and more. We want to make these varied options better at what they do by rewarding you for using them well – thus, Arcanes!

Because the Gunplay falloff is more of a late-game problem, these new Upgrades will be earned through late-game content systems — namely, the Steel Path. You’ll be able to get the Arcane Slot Unlockers from Steel Path Honors, whereas the Arcanes themselves drop from Acolytes in the Steel Path! The spawn frequency of Acolytes is also being increased, meaning you’ll get more Steel Essence, as well as more chances for the Arcane you want. All Acolytes will drop them!

There are 6 Arcanes (3 Primary, 3 Secondary) that you’ll be able to rank up and put to put into the new Slots:

PRIMARY:
The first Primary Arcane is designed with Primary weapons that perform well as AOE or high rate-of-fire weapons. This Arcane will reward kills with the following stats at Max rank:

PRIMARY MERCILESS
On Kill:
+30% Damage for 4s. Stacks up to 12x.
+30% Reload Speed
+100% Ammo Max

The more you kill, the more damage you can build up. Groovy!

The second Primary Arcane is designed with high precision weapons in mind. Make your Headshots count for greater performance (excluding AOE headshots)!:

PRIMARY DEADHEAD
On Headshot Kill:
120% Damage for 24s. Stacks up to 3x.
+30% to Headshot Multiplier.
-50% Weapon Recoil

The final Primary Arcane is designed with using your full loadout in mind, enter Melee synergy:

PRIMARY DEXTERITY
On Melee Kill: +60% Damage for 20s. Stacks up to 6x. +60% Holster Speed. +7.5s Combo Duration.

SECONDARY:
Secondary Weapons will receive the same options as Primary Weapons for their Arcanes, but with their own version. In practice, you’d be able to equip yourself with a Precision Secondary like the Knell, a high-fire rate Primary like the Grakata, and select the Arcane that will reward each play style best!

The stats are the same for the Secondary versions of the New Arcanes:

SECONDARY MERCILESS
On Kill:
+30% Damage for 4s. Stacks up to 12x.
+30% Reload Speed
+100% Ammo Max

SECONDARY DEADHEAD
On Headshot Kill:
120% Damage for 24s. Stacks up to 3x.
+30% to Headshot Multiplier.
-50% Weapon Recoil

SECONDARY DEXTERITY
On Melee Kill: +60% Damage for 20s. Stacks up to 6x. +60% Holster Speed. +7.5s Combo Duration.

Ultimately each Arcane stacks up to the same amount of damage, but it’s how you choose to get there that counts. Precision? Spray and Pray? Melee synergy? Your choice!

The “Arcane Adapters themselves are an item you’ll need to install on the weapons you want to take further, and you can find the Primary and Secondary Arcane Adapters in the Steel Path Honors. The Arcanes themselves drop from Acolytes on The Steel Path.
Galvanized Mods

Our observation that Arsenal imbalance becomes obvious at higher level content means that we want your progression to this content to matter for your power level. We want to give you the tools to progress to optimal play with a new series of Mods: Galvanized Mods!

The general approach to these Galvanized Mods is that the unconditional upgrade is not quite as good as the non-Galvanized original, but the On Kill conditional increases them well above and beyond what is available with ‘conventional’ Mods in your Arsenal. These will be available from Arbitrations for Vitus Essence.

  • New Galvanized Mods:
    • Galvanized Crosshairs
    • Galvanized Diffusion
    • Galvanized Shot
    • Galvanized Scope
    • Galvanized Chamber
    • Galvanized Aptitude
    • Galvanized Hell
    • Galvanized Acceleration
    • Galvanized Savvy

General Beam Weapon Mod Change:
Ruinous Extension and Sinister Reach are now slottable in the Exilus slot and their text changed from “+X Range” to “+X Beam Length”

Why: While we are in the revision process for all things Mods, some well reasoned suggestions made it aboard!

Login Items

As with many of our large-scale reworks and changes in the past, we want to honour the investment of time and resources our players have put into their Arsenal! Since these changes are both wide-sweeping and precise, we have a general login inbox planned for all players, with a few bonuses for those who meet certain conditions.

With the release of Update 30.5: Sisters of Parvos, players will receive the following upon login:

  1. All Players Mastery Rank 5 and above will receive 5 x Built Forma.

  5. Players who have Converted a Kuva lich OR vanquished a Kuva Lich will get OULL, which is a Requiem Wildcard Mod!

In closing…

The delivery of these changes is rooted in our goals, and if we miss the mark we’ll be watching for what to tweak. Keep in mind what our goals and visions are when you give feedback after playing!

DECONSTRUCTOR MELEE MODDING CHANGES:

The Sisters of Parvos update will bring three new Modular Hound Companions, each with a unique Melee weapon. While reviewing these Companion Weapons, we noticed the Helios-old problem that there’s a lot of Melee Mods that you can equip, but don’t really function on companion Melee. There’s also some ‘invisible gear hopping’ where if you put Mods on your Deconstructor (or Prime), they carry over to your Melee which is a many-year-old oversight we’ve lived with, but are approaching changes more thoroughly with this Update and as a result we’re patching up this behaviour.

These are mostly Mods that deal with combos or heavy attacks, since Companions do not have these features as well as other certain outliers. As a result the following Mods will be incompatible with the upcoming three Hound weapons and retroactively will no longer work with the Deconstructor and Deconstructor Prime:

Amalgam Organ Shatter
Corrupt Charge
Enduring Strike
Body Count
Blood Rush
Dispatch Overdrive
Drifting Contact
Energy Channel
Finishing Touch
Focus Energy
Focused Defense
Guardian Derision
Killing Blow
Life Strike
Maiming Strike
Parry
Quickening
Reflex Coil
Relentless Combination
Seismic Wave
True Punishment
Weeping Wounds

Gladiator Might
Gladiator Rush
Gladiator Vice
Carnis Mandible
Jugulus Barbs
Saxum Thorax
Motus Impact
Proton Snap
Tek Gravity
Strain Infection

HELMINTH UPDATES:
You can now go up to Rank 15, and so much more! When it comes to the level cap increase to Helminth (from 10 to 15), we are introducing Invigorations at the same time, which will give around triple the XP of Subsumes. They should help you rank up as you invigorate your Arsenal over time.

This is similar to other MMOs, you won’t retroactively get leveled up for past play when the Helminth level cap increases.

NEW HELMINTH SYSTEM: HELMINTH INVIGORATIONS
Son has been busy developing new bio-technologies for Helminth. Visit SON in the Necralisk on DEIMOS to obtain the New Helminth Invigoration Segment Blueprint required to upgrade your Helminth to perform a new operation: Invigorations!

Helminth Invigorations are here! Take a seat, Tenno. Helminth has some flavours of the week!
Every week, your Helminth will have an Affinity toward 3 Warframes. You can interact with Helminth with these Warframes to gain select Weekly Buffs (one Offensive and one Utility/Defense)! For example:

Zephyr: 200% Power Strength and Immune To Status
Atlas: 200% Primary Critical Chance and +1000 Armor
Excalibur: 250% Melee Damage and 75% power Efficiency

Once you infuse the Invigoration, it lasts the week before the power of the Helminth wears off. Check back each week to see what options your Helminth has for you!

The Helminth takes note of your interactions – for every 10 Invigorations you do, you’ll be able to Select what Warframe receives the next buff!

NEW HELMINTH ABILITIES
With the help of our trusty Design Council, the Helminth has been injected with new Helminth Abilities! Each one unlocks at one of the new Helminth Ranks (11,12,13,14,15)!

  • PARASITIC ARMOR (Rank 11)
    • Sacrifice Shields to reinforce Armor for a period of time.
  • HIDEOUS RESISTANCE (Rank 12)
    • Grant yourself immunity to Status effects.
  • VORACIOUS METASTASIS (Rank 13)
    • Consume Energy to heal yourself and grant matching Energy to each ally.
  • SICKENING PULSE (Rank 14)
    • Emit a pulse that adds stacks to Status Effects already afflicting enemies, except Bleed, Heat, and Toxin effects which are duplicated with fresh timers.
      • Not affected by Power Strength.
  • GOLDEN INSTINCT (Rank 15)
    • Send out a short-lived Void Spark that is drawn toward the nearest Medallion, Ayatan Sculpture, rare crate, unscanned Kuria or unscanned Fragment.

COMPANION SYSTEM SIMPLIFICATION
The Companion System has received a much awaited overhaul! The Companion System has undergone many iterations: DNA Decay rate reductions, adding the option to ‘Consign’, removing the negative effects from a lack of Loyalty or Integrity, removing Stasis completely – the list goes on!

The below are our continued efforts to streamline the Companion System structure that is now almost 7 years old! With a combination of Community feedback and internal desires we’ve changed the following:

Genetic Aging Regressing
Within the Incubator you can now choose to “Regress Genetic Aging” of an existing Mature Companion back to their non-mature state (puppy, kitten, etc). Keep in mind that this unequips said Companion (if it was equipped) and it’s Armor/cosmetics are removed. At any time you can choose to Mature said Companion at which it will revert to its former Mature state with its existing Levels, stats, and Armor/cosmetics intact. There’s no limit to how many times you can Regress your Companion!

Stability & Loyalty Removal
We have removed the DNA Integrity and Loyalty groups from the Companion Management Screen, and removed DNA Stabilizers from the Market. Previously only the Nutrio Incubator Upgrade Segment could eliminate DNA degradation. No more Stability or Loyalty degrading!

Damage Resistance Mod Math Changes:

The following changes occurred due to the following scenario being shared:

A player reported that combining Umbral Mods + Adaptation + Lightning Rod on any Warframe made them fully immune to all damage from the Hydrolyst Eidolon.

Prior to this discovery, we already made sure we couldn’t reach 100% Damage Resistance because that would just be excessive in all cases. You can see this in action when we capped the ‘In Air’ Damage Resistance Mods. Even though the Mods theoretically could reach 100% Damage Resistance, there is a hard cap at 90%.

In response and to avoid future oversights, we have changed the way Damage Resistance works. It now works on ‘Damage Remaining’ instead of having all the Modifiers combined and operating at once.

Example:
Consider the case of:
4x 25% Damage Resistance Mods:

WAS: (25% + 25% + 25% + 25%) = 100% Damage Reduction

0.75 x 0.75 x 0.75 x 0.75 = 31.5% damage taken AKA 68.5% damage reduction

NEW DEIMOS ENEMY: JUGULUS REX

GENERAL CHANGES

  • Ammo Chain will now give Mausolon 1800 Ammo pool instead of 1799.

  • Updated all of New Loka’s mouth shapes for the visemes to improve the overall quality.

  • Updated all of Nora Night’s visemes so it uses all the correct mouth shapes.

  • Added ‘Available Sessions’ icons to Friends list to indicate when players are available to join.

  • Updated Boon’s visemes – better lipsyncing for our favorite K-Driving rebel.

  • Updated the Trade error message to “Failed to make offer; your trade partner already owns one or more of these items and cannot receive a duplicate.” when attempting to Trade a Skin that a player already owns.

  • Added ability to hover over currencies in the top right bar for their names and descriptions.

    • Kitguns (Primary + Secondary)

    • Zaw (Melee)

    • Modular Companions (Moas + Hounds)

      • Being unable to install a Reactor or Catalyst onto an ungilded modular item significantly slowed down progression on new Modular items. Players who were willing to make the investment into Modular items weren’t able to Mod them to their full capacity, which left their new gear feeling very underpowered. So we have removed that restriction!

  • Change armed camera offsets when riding the K-Drive to allow for easier view of combat.

  • Updated Sequence Burn Spectra Mod from +Range to +Beam Length.

  • All K-Drives can now do a grind Slam Shockwave! Bomb the landin’ K-Drive Mod will now buff the Damage and Range of the Shockwave.
